Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator

Key Responsibilities
! K5 O, @2 V7 V7 m$ i2 [1 }8 U- submit information for community news
$ m! }% Q" f) P* W8 h- provide volunteers to update membership database
+ z* J7 u- N* Y% e- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers

- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties) G$ u! w$ b: I+ \
- provide volunteers for various programs 2 d4 ?! L- H: a2 N U) W
- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual
, p$ X" j: G8 P4 E/ {( [- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation
5 x. A5 [5 s' Y% v- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities0 e" R! u' f7 ^
- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services4 A7 W; V2 s% Q4 J" R
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports: E" j# {! W% }, `0 D& S5 t# f
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
( \* |" w0 F* R3 V4 t' f; V; y' T- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed8 R6 h4 L/ j% D) V% Y2 u9 U) Z3 n8 V
- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)& j; ?0 x, V' G6 B
- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events . e! j2 M C5 j& L% m
- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
- v( U" B1 _: E. P: N3 V- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers
6 i5 V# b; x K) Z1 y: k- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
" r# v; N) V+ r' q6 I- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis 0 ~; A8 L+ {/ s& t' `& n0 t- Q
- evaluations # I( h3 n' Q2 d7 i& |# W
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

Y, `6 _$ X* G4 _+ L- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education; c4 [" M- j4 F! w. v0 U7 e
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
3 v9 a+ D1 O* `1 J; r, Z# ~- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
! f" R, A9 a. ?& K- leadership skills
' f- o+ C# J1 |- management and supervision skills9 o" F! v8 T0 H9 {* ]0 n1 i+ a
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
