Position Title: Volunteer Coordinator 4 d4 [! E; f* N: E h
Hours of Work: Full time (35 hours per week)

7 |) \( a$ P: V! k- submit information for community news
( H( Q1 N" ]9 Z- provide volunteers to update membership database1 E8 ?: ~, @6 A* u
- recruiting, performing security and reference checks, providing orientation, supervising, referring and placing volunteers
% H6 Z7 u. h2 r6 J- train volunteers for ISP and provide duties# N( T3 C$ k8 y6 X0 ?0 L# e* k) {5 J1 w
- train volunteers for Centre and provide duties, c# d+ O: ~, p& O1 E9 D& d
- provide volunteers for various programs
( F6 p F6 Q3 H, k4 y- coordinate, update Volunteer Manual/ x! q! o a; _+ ]+ T! y& n( D
- planning and coordinating Volunteer Appreciation* ~6 }* v# b$ o" G3 @
- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities
1 ?# y* B: G7 G8 @, M- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to volunteer services5 p4 M' @4 a' R$ R/ ?4 v/ a
- assist in writing ISP proposals and reports7 V; A6 V! [* O2 x5 I( P$ v
- provide volunteers for Centre activities as needed
3 n- R3 C" Y) @2 V& P+ O- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as needed
# r7 \ K, g( c; Q8 `+ k3 C. t6 L- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)
* s/ M" x3 c. b2 M7 ?5 I- promoting volunteerism through various media including the 3 main Chinese newspapers, Chinese radio station and the Chinese television, Fairchild TV, brochures, pamphlets, booth displays, special events
4 N/ c+ r( K: c% A- development and distribution of a volunteer manual
6 w- I4 F, T4 m" p: n& X6 n7 g; X- planning and implementing training sessions for volunteers * {/ M& z K/ g) K1 T# F2 h
- planning and implementing training sessions for staff that work with volunteers
: \4 x+ g( J G' ~8 m- consulting and reporting to the Advisory Committee on a regular basis
( G' y: L+ P6 H5 m6 G2 m. U- evaluations 1 o9 N% X) n) o' J1 ]* R. ]
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre3 W& |; q' p# S; U+ @* y9 U2 T# }

Qualifications$ q. Q5 e, D( x9 }& N$ h3 {
- degree or diploma in Social Work, Sociology, Community Services, Human Services or related experience and education( k& E, X+ |6 T1 E3 J& o+ u
- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
# @. r7 f8 L9 Y! w9 ?: T4 b- experience in volunteer coordinating and immigrant services
) f* o0 w% q( F8 m6 ^0 Z- leadership skills; }% I9 J0 v4 w+ B* ^+ p, ? f' m5 w/ F
- management and supervision skills0 f* N$ o( q7 j+ b2 C
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
