Position Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. This individual reports to the ISP program manager and provides support to all members of the ISP team. 4 ~" U/ a+ A/ U2 q9 K, H

H4 s8 u' x% e: K0 `- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community
' v% _! @; s8 M% q& J3 Q! v- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services
& S& X: P2 J% t f4 [! v v- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services2 e- b# ^3 M3 E# a/ ]
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies

- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members

- prepare and send AGM information to members n* x% k! A+ k# p! d: Y0 I
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.

- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre

- assist in writing proposal for ISP2 m) ~4 }9 i' A* ?. i, F" J
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team n$ @, R( ?( [
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time* w( ^" C1 z% @8 ]
- update membership database

Qualifications
% y5 u/ q4 S8 n# _- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
% E" V9 X. Q& N- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
- d* X( j$ s' ^1 @- experience in community work and immigrant services
: Q7 G8 h( z9 Q! g2 U- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
' b- I7 ^ t3 h; l8 u* J- leadership skills: ^3 l7 _/ c" b- x3 [+ Y
- exceptional communication, interpersonal skills
