# x: q/ E# X8 o# o6 IPosition Summary: Within the broad guidelines of Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada, and Alberta Employment, Immigration & Industry, the community development worker coordinates workshops seminars and activities. Job Description:
/ T; i7 h6 [5 c" T9 O- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community- m5 S3 V" e7 K! v' R
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services- m8 J* D8 F& q, r; Q
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services+ A8 P& e! N: g2 G% A8 c
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies C( J# `$ c) J1 B2 x$ O8 x
- coordinate good will activities
, K* M1 w% r9 N( V( }' n- coordinate and send out quarterly newsletter to members
& l$ X( K1 S0 g1 w5 A% m1 J- submit information for community news 5 N! o5 q1 G. o: d* _
- prepare and send AGM information to members" U* f# J9 r6 M
- assist in special events coordinating: Open House, AGM, Volunteer Appreciation, etc.
! k2 t2 U' X4 w w- participate in ISP department and agency meetings/activities

- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
% U) {0 ~4 Z: [/ m" v- assist in writing proposal for ISP$ u$ I0 R* ]/ e: O/ J
- write quarterly and final reports for ISP
- I3 U3 x; s ?- explore new ideas for ISP : ]- v9 L. }6 s1 k, v8 V. G8 J
- hold regular meetings with ISP team+ p5 N/ O. Q6 l% f2 g9 h! q
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time

8 U6 h- ]8 I( x o! ~- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
! l0 S9 R( j+ [7 E0 F; `1 C d5 @- good oral and written Chinese and English skills
+ W- Q; C. E" A& w( p9 W7 v- experience in community work and immigrant services: U+ I. }3 g# @9 ~
- ability to coordinate workshops and seminars
! k$ V: ? k0 ^ P5 g- leadership skills
