Immigrant Settlement Program (ISP) at ASSIST Community Services Centre is currently seeking flexible individual to fill the following two positions:

Position Title: Receptionist/Immigration Services Worker

- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.& E# Z& f% j7 K) ?
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker! T# g# |4 s. f3 X
- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

- post secondary diploma

6 v! m8 x$ g4 o, E- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

Position title: Community Development Worker

Job Description
0 E# u, f! z9 H1 I* _' z- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community$ q6 D7 t6 X0 d! l/ G# Z
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services- j5 d' Z2 N1 \
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services' b7 w( s, ^" K$ h. ^, {# b; c
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
, B* c+ ~* Q: t- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
, C1 J# q6 K4 N/ f* Y- update ASSIST website( s3 L. ~& v) f5 w2 E
- demonstrate team spirit in achieving vision and objectives of Centre
4 T% N9 Q6 t6 E& U( `/ W0 N0 o$ M- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services
) m) S) [3 O# Q: }* N. Q- assist in writing proposal for ISP
+ e; }& |, ~, E8 d% l8 H2 v0 p$ P- write quarterly and final reports for ISP2 `4 ?% R" |8 C! ?) v D
- hold regular meetings with ISP team; q# p0 H* s' H+ R
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time4 B! n0 G* L; @3 @( k
- update membership database
6 e; ?) [! e/ S/ e- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

$ m: i' [7 ^5 W- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education
1 }( P# M/ A; O) I! Z6 B- good oral and written Chinese and English skills W1 U1 m1 v: l* H' n
- experience in community work and immigrant services
