Job Description
1 j i' U* H' y! k9 V0 T# V9 X8 L- answer multi-line phone calls professionally, politely and directing the calls correctly.- Z$ J6 X/ x2 E$ r' l O, J5 U% v
- assist with providing counter services and act as relieve to the other Immigrant Services Worker
2 Z8 L X z& f2 V- reports to the program manager and provides clerical support to all members of the ISP team

- post secondary diploma

- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset

- community development, liaison with mainstream agencies to provide services for Chinese community0 k j! G5 a: a* |
- workshops, seminars, activities that give Chinese population access to mainstream services7 ~; {& R6 I( }% S5 a
- fulfill needs that are not met in Chinese community in terms of social services& m- t$ q6 f% B# u4 r/ L3 k
- develop good working relationships with mainstream and ethnic agencies
: O# Z H2 N& g0 {- coordinate good will activities and send out quarterly newsletter to members
- M6 A- b0 g( ?! j' b- update ASSIST website

5 g* h1 P% N U! X- participate in external committees/conferences/workshops related to immigrant services% B8 J: \9 Z9 U% \# Q
- assist in writing proposal for ISP

- hold regular meetings with ISP team h' |8 q3 z3 L5 ]& P" R- f
- assist with Centre’s other activities or programs as prescribed from time to time! Q, z$ {! K% M! z. X( B; D
- update membership database
7 R7 H P2 }! Y) k& K- work flexible hours (including evenings, weekends as required)

- degree/diploma in social/human sciences with 1 year of relevant experience or equivalent of experience and education

- experience in community work and immigrant services
* H' g. X C- h7 E5 o$ C% e- Fluent in English, Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese) is an asset
