What activities will I do during my road test?

1 n; B- o& y& H2 x+ J8 K· You must have your Learner’s licence. If you have a temporary licence (non-photo)
, F% M3 N; f9 u# ]/ l0 S* N* Mthen you must also provide acceptable photo ID.' v( [- M; {* h
· Wear clothing that is practical for driving and comfort. It should be appropriate for the
: v! f, G4 I8 m. q1 n# @6 L' Mweather conditions (in case your vehicle breaks down and you have to wait or walk).
. ^$ ~: V( G' |* @, }· Your vehicle must meet all legal requirements (good mechanical condition, valid! i7 e9 P( m, i8 L9 U
insurance and registration) and have enough fuel for at least one hour of driving.' R& V! W8 q# D0 N \
· Payment for the test must be made directly to the Examiner or Registry office.

The Examiner will do a vehicle check with you. You will be in the driver’s seat and the examiner will ask you to
% n( z& f3 k7 Y8 w1 B( | gassist in checking the signal and brake lights, horn, brakes, and steering. You will be asked to describe and9 s5 V; d- r# r' R
demonstrate two of the instruments or controls inside the vehicle, such as the hazard lights and windshield2 a+ h7 z$ F4 \. ^# E @
wipers. The Examiner will provide information before you move the vehicle about the route and the instructions& Y8 {& F: L0 U- l b2 k- T, H
that you will be given during the test.- L) G% K% A6 i3 h7 v7 w

· Points will be assigned for errors. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 points to pass the road test.

· When the road test is finished, the Examiner will highlight the areas you performed well, as well as

The Examiner will give you a copy of the Driver Examination Checklist form. You will also be given a copy of the. @. I4 V6 @( E) L
Test Permit. This will indicate that you have passed. Take this permit, along with your learner’s licence, to any
( c9 K( ]. ~4 C# |2 I- e( SAlberta Registry Agent to have your licence changed to a Class 5 Probationary Licence. There will be a fee for this Y8 V! M, z8 K: Q
