JERUSALEM - Israel is sending disaster relief to China.7 \4 h1 a$ X5 I! i7 {# _
8 g8 q7 k8 N- U8 U* h2 FForeign Ministry spokesman Arye Mekel says a plane is on the way to southern China carrying clothing, medical supplies, generators and tents for victims of the May 12 earthquake.

Mekel estimated the shipment was worth US$1.5 million and said it was due to arrive in China later today.4 H5 C% T5 q/ z# P" ^+ Z4 ]

According to Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, "This is the minimum that the State of Israel can do in order to express the friendship between Israel and the Chinese people."
