Foreign Ministry spokesman Arye Mekel says a plane is on the way to southern China carrying clothing, medical supplies, generators and tents for victims of the May 12 earthquake.

Mekel estimated the shipment was worth US$1.5 million and said it was due to arrive in China later today.0 d U& k$ Q+ ~5 n

According to Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni, "This is the minimum that the State of Israel can do in order to express the friendship between Israel and the Chinese people."
