1. Chemical list and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS’s)
& f( F' e- Q' f$ b8 t, @• help complete up-to-date chemical lists for all laboratories within the department% d8 f$ E2 l2 P, m; s) _
• collect and obtain MSDS’s for all chemicals( C0 n9 I* g) ?% f; \ e( f: H, ~
• make sure all chemicals are properly labelled and stored
/ a! o- _9 k% \ Q• proper disposal of all unwanted chemicals( m+ v! N8 w" k% n
• finalize chemical lists and then duplicate and label all MSDS’s for distribution to OH&S for the MSDS on line system.

+ Z( O3 }" J$ i2 X* F* a% d* b2. Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and Hazard Assessments (HA’s)
7 L% |+ m5 w/ l4 g' [4 H• help update the department SOP’s and HA’s. This will include verification of existing SOP’s and HA’s and tracking any that are needed.

3. Tracking System! u( V/ j9 U D" O
• help develop a tracking system for adding or removal of chemicals as well as continual updating and verification of SOP’s and HA’s , c+ a3 \2 c |

Candidates should be inquisitive, thorough, and willing to learn. Some education and/or experience in safety is preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment are required. , h! j. o: }$ f7 ^6 r5 E( t5 t

This is a two-month summer position, preferably commencing the middle of June, which will pay an hourly wage commensurate with education and experience. Final candidates will be asked to undergo a security screening.
