It is not easy to get into that school, it takes only 20 kids at every grade. If you do not get in there since kindergarten, it is very hard to get in. Even in kindergarten, if there are more than 20 kids register, they will draw out 20 only. If you still want to get you kid in at grade one, you can try the waiting list while there is a kid quit that school, you may have the chance to get in. But there is another way, if you are the employer of that school, your kids can enroll that school without doubt. My friend was French teacher of that school since last summer, and she put her daughter to grade 4. Her daughter is the 22nd kid of that class. After few months she gave birth and she quited teaching, but her daughter still can stay at that school. Any kid in tha school should learn piano, violin. flute or chelo through suzuki method.....very important, not traditional method! But it does not mean your kid can learn the instrutment he likes. For example, if there are 15 kids in that class wants to learn piano, and 5 kids wants to learn violin........no way, the school will figure out how many kids can pick piano and how many should pick chelo....and so on. And there is no school bus transportation...you have to send the kid and pick the kid up every day even in the winter. If you are lucky, you can find the car pool. I was trying to send my daughter there, so I went there to talk to the secretary. They put my daughter on the waiting list, but I do not think she will get the chance........that is fine. Later, i found her another school with extension program, the only school in edmonton provide such program, Mckernnan school. I think I am lucky and my daughter is lucky now. |
