& ~ Z0 [- e; l * Provides routine technical and administrative support for sample preparations and mineral separation for isotopic analysis
/ _/ O% j; _8 ?$ b * Conducts mineral separation, sample imaging, grant mount preparation, sample weighing and iron exchange chromatography
. Y, v5 K; ~( ^& R * Provides training to graduate students, visiting scientists on preparation techniques
7 @) K. i& g5 q * Compiles analytical data using standard office software such as Excel, Word and Corel for use by the PI or client
! |- e" B- P2 S* ^8 d1 U * Performs routine maintenance on equipment and lab husbandry- @! x: r1 s2 J# }1 T. T
* Orders supplies, maintains lab records, maintain WHMIS records and compliance labeling, maintains lab inventory and safe disposal of chemicals

& u* O) P/ l! M/ K- x' i+ E. y * Post Secondary diploma in laboratory technology, Chemistry or Earth Sciences; BSc in Geology or Chemistry preferred
# X( g" K" Z% ~8 R0 q$ _( ] * 1-2 years experience working in a research environment (analytical chemistry lab or geochemical lab)
3 ]* }) A- O3 q- P * Computer proficiency using MS Office applications and Corel1 q3 t/ c2 K- D. H6 }
* A thorough knowledge of lab safety protocols and WHMIS procedures7 q% p% \: c7 o! r
* Experience conducting routine maintenance on standard rock sample preparation equipment# L8 e- o( f$ ]4 O6 B3 x
