& f8 k$ |( Y5 y) |3 j8 o    * Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates programs and services to address the unique educational and social needs of lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans-identified,two-spirited and queer (LGBTTQ) youth in the Edmonton region9 Z( p5 ~! J& n. r5 n6 H" |
    * Develops and delivers community-based programming and provides support services for Youth Understanding Youth, Edmonton's sexual minority community youth group3 ~' p4 t, r) |  ^, X- P' m! `% v
    * Trains,motivates and supports volunteer adult facilitators
3 T8 r" y/ k4 o! E3 Z% d    * Acts as a resource on LGBTTQ youth issues for Institute staff, community, and governmental organizations
! b5 @0 M3 J: L6 F0 E    * Provides interim quarterly reports and an overall annual productivity report and evaluation to the Assistant Director- J5 e+ y! _& _$ I
    * Liaises with the Assistant Director in budget planning and management; monitors project related expenses
( u6 R+ Z4 X2 L! W2 f- y* P    * Advocates to meet the health, social and safety needs of LGBTTQ and questioning youth
& Z" ~4 w% X$ g# S    * Researches and develops a LGBTTQ youth mentoring program
! {: Q/ X0 F% Z- g- x$ @3 p    * Develops, implements and monitors a LGBTTQ youth risk and needs assessment! R- I& p7 ~8 q' s1 v0 Q+ ^
    * Develops benchmarks to assist in the evaluation of YUY programming and outreach supports
7 r, l" c+ R( J# C$ G! `    * Develops promotional materials such as posters, brochures, and displays to promote the youth group and mentoring programs

# t( j/ u& J5 h    * Supports University of Alberta campus organizations for sexual minority students and gay-straight student alliances in local high schools and communities
7 l- ^* u* Z. |! {    * Develops a communications and advertising strategy targeting community agencies, youth groups/programs, and schools

Qualifications( c5 E# Y: ~  J7 D7 Q& Q

! K2 G- i2 O2 t$ K" Q4 q6 w    * Bachelor's degree in education, social work, psychology, or a related professional discipline
+ o1 ]% A  {$ }! i9 ^. |+ n0 I; |6 e    * Three to five years experience in community development with a particular emphasis on sexual minority youth
% [: V1 G2 ]0 V' I! E    * Knowledge in adolescent development, health and sex education, violence prevention,suicide intervention, alcohol and substance abuse, HIV and STI prevention and harm reduction strategies
8 g# s- f  _& R) F    * Experience in developing and providing youth-oriented programs
1 s8 H6 b$ D# ?$ s8 ?- y    * Demonstrated effectiveness in working with the LGBTTQ community. P3 `' W( d9 ?
    * Fundraising skills an asset
6 O0 m* j1 D# C3 m  n* G" c8 k    * Demonstrated experience in development of youth group programming, community outreach,volunteer management and training and conflict resolution skills' D; g! e, R+ i. @0 E% r1 i: v
    * Outstanding group facilitation, training, and counselling skills3 Y  r, t3 b! C& C8 l3 Q: K5 R' Q
    * Proven leadership, and strong team, and relationship building skills8 ?* W. g; y6 K; b, x
    * Excellent communication (oral, written, and web-based), organizational and interpersonal skills. V9 a$ i4 G2 I9 ?, C+ }$ ]
    * Understanding of other languages and experiences working within Aboriginal and ethnocultural communities an asset
