At approximately 2:20 a.m. MT, the EPS responded to a call of shots fired at a silver Infiniti near a Whitemud Drive overpass at 170th Street.

One male passenger fled from the vehicle before police arrived, and reports indicate a small white car was seen fleeing the scene after the shots were fired.5 s: h }9 j- o( u

1 man dead in stabbing
. Q* k" O' J, ]Meanwhile, one male is dead and another is in police custody after an altercation between two groups in an alley early Sunday morning, according to an EPS press release.8 H: t% C9 q# z0 l9 d3 u" }2 ~

At approximately 2:45 a.m. MT, officers spotted a vehicle being driven the wrong way on Gateway Boulevard near Whyte Avenue.

Upon stopping the car, the officers learned that one of the passengers, a 24-year-old male, was seriously injured.

He was taken to hospital, where he died of his injuries.9 R# J( c# F( g4 K$ b" f
9 {9 n; A) E/ `8 c" [A police investigation revealed that the three male occupants of the vehicle had been involved in a physical altercation with two other males and a female near an alley south of Whyte Avenue, between Gateway Boulevard and Calgary Trail, which resulted in one male being stabbed.9 ` X8 Y+ N- b% a) H2 A

The three suspects were located by police immediately following the vehicle stop. A 32-year-old male is in custody and charges are pending.) p6 D# n( }7 x1 _9 R
