加拿大癌症防治科学院说，阿尔伯达政府正在采取降低烟草税的政策，这说明该省实施的削减烟草使用的举措发挥了积极作用。最近的刚更新的财政数据表明烟草税下降了6%，相当于5000万加币。
   加拿大癌症防治研究院的Angeline Webb说，烟草削减法案不允许在所有的公共场所和工作地点吸烟，这一法案的切实执行取得了令人满意的效果。

The Alberta government, already suffering from declining oil revenue, is now facing a dip in tobacco revenue.

$ j4 H6 V" R/ U/ _) nFigures from the quarterly fiscal update show a six percent drop sucking away $50 million dollars from initial budget projections.

# @* b$ H  U  D% [. R1 BAngeline Webb, a Cancer Control Analyst for the Canadian Cancer Society, says "it appears that the Tobacco Reduction Act is having the desired effect."
