crude prices improves. This implies also to good names such as Shell,

% t4 r: r! c: { D% `$ p0 YRecently OPEC reduced crude oil production twice over just a few
* v2 F' Q% d0 `4 Rmonths. There are three wars going on in Gaza, Iraq and Afghandistan. 8 h, r. y7 e5 d* B* t
A year ago these things would have spiked the price of crude oil by at
9 O4 z; u" e" j( J3 Pleast $50.00 per barrel. Today, oil price declined by a record amount.

There are several reasons the price of oil is decreasing in the face ; q$ Y, u; T/ ?
of so much news. These reasons are:

in the ocean near Brazil. Each of these oil fields has more oil than

* O7 X- B: Z7 O3 d' e8 J2. New natural gas has been found in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. # g/ w1 o& r9 w ^

4. Production of bio-fuels is beginning to reach critical mass. Bio

potential per acre in some cases is astounding. Many countries are
3 ]0 p! {6 Q4 h% Uracing to produce bio fuels.

5. Virtually every restaurant in the US and all food processing plants

cattle, turkey and chicken processing plant will soon sell their fat $ r9 D5 Z; r% \ V/ a
to bio-diesel producers. One pork processing plant in Oklahoma is

( O9 N. O/ o( b$ w, J6. There are 99 nuclear reactors in various stages of planning and
" _/ A2 f6 Q- Tconstruction around the world at this time. Several hundred more are
, O J& e$ f/ H+ }$ Hexpected to be built in the future. Much of the energy they produce

with new more fuel efficient equipment. Airlines and railway companies 1 q3 T2 g+ a' c
are experiencing 20% to 25% better fuel econony with the new
! O) D* _ \& b) Q6 D7 K8 cequipment.

6 d# E2 c1 e7 I0 K: CAirlines are flying airplanes with bio-fuel. They are finding the bio-
" m: j- y4 O, d$ ofuel is cleaner and performs better than jet fuel.

8. Cities and counties throughout the US are selling the rights to 3 J" X0 I' l5 _1 t6 I# ^" n; f
capture methane gas from landfills. This is a huge source of gas - Z: e j8 K% b( [. w
available at very little cost or risk. The gas is displacing crude # `* U! A2 \6 _1 H
oil. E) ] e( W' n$ y6 }4 P

6 {7 E: i3 x8 }% V. ]$ g8 b9. Coal is being transformed into a clean burning liquid fuel. The CO2
' U6 u+ s; x/ D4 @9 {; }produced as a byproduct is sold to oil companies for injection into ! a0 I# o. u5 ^, \" G+ m
oil wells.

4 r' a' r( d. c5 ^$ c( h. _10. Solar, wind and ocean energy is displacing oil as an energy

Each of the above by itself will not make a large difference in the $ {; f/ _, D! W% T4 r) L
price of crude oil but the sum of all of them together is world 9 q" j" C' D6 O! \9 _5 V+ t' Y
changing. The important thing is that OPEC no longer has the ability # S0 ]% j5 ]) R+ {9 q
to control oil prices. 7 X+ }, s9 Y3 O4 W' e
