( Z! `8 f4 F2 C8 @& z: w& x# ]There are no changes in the way Albertans register for publicly-funded health care. However, as announced in the 2008 budget, health premiums have been eliminated as of January 1, 2009.

2. Employers and benefit administrators who register and pay premiums on behalf of their employees will continue to do so.# ^% ?+ M2 \" ~) P6 j; g) Q5 x6 S
3. Alberta Health and Wellness will continue to pursue collections from those who fail to pay premiums.7 ?& w$ U; N J! c! K( U- ^: Z
4. Contributors to Alberta Blue Cross or other supplementary insurance plans that provide prescription drug, dental, and other extended coverage, will still pay those premiums, as they have not been eliminated.* ?5 n& x P' V$ U7 |
5. New Albertans must register for the Alberta Health Care Insurance Plan within three months of their arrival. |
