A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.; q) C7 b0 r, ?( H( z6 g

• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
, A$ U3 c. \- I" G! W5 Y" Z# M4 J• Standard Child Care First Aid
! y X' L, u. t! U• WHMIS
' d; @+ y, i3 `+ F: S• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
- b6 U) k4 t6 Z2 M3 ?• Components to improve communication skills8 _. w" G4 F$ }+ Q3 V5 C" ?2 D+ H
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search

Eligibility Criteria" L$ J5 m, T. S2 r
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen/ k! |. U U. F, C
of Canada- z3 ?% ~+ ?' E/ ]: B
• have a Social Insurance Number ?4 y% X5 ]. i( t2 D& E
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check% b* Z- v+ ^+ T5 t8 k
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent3 h# i6 \' a* m, N: m- A% z. @' A
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time2 x+ B! y5 i) X5 ^4 P
program* O& N+ k! o$ r# x) ~
Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
: \! k/ V# a/ R$ J1 L1 p2 C' xthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:; a, p! K! O8 E( Q% m8 d
• be unemployed or underemployed.; p2 t. P! S' X$ L7 }3 M
They CANNOT quit their job to take the course; T" {- G) M2 G. L6 z' d
• meet the financial eligibility criteria4 @4 t# F; O' `' K3 o$ F
