A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.- @ \/ {1 T, E. X; [! }% C- y
This program is designed to provide participants with the skills and! N& @3 a) r7 L& A2 d" O, Z3 w; F8 d3 y
knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.
' }7 `0 r8 e9 `4 rThe program includes the following elements:
* s3 \1 J9 N' B7 Y/ y' u• Orientation Course for Child Care Staff (Level 1)
4 f. |8 F1 Z* i( o& @# Z) i• Standard Child Care First Aid
0 a: o( F3 s/ C+ k! ? n• WHMIS+ R# z# a) ?$ L; c1 H
• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care! d8 o2 [3 k4 O( T) g
• Components to improve communication skills
2 y S3 ?4 T( E9 Y/ h4 l• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search# |7 ^& d$ e/ j4 N6 ?
• Practicum Placements& p; s% F* z8 a8 `. |- `( y' U1 N
Eligibility Criteria
& J2 E/ l; h# X% K! M• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen
" j# G( n, G& Z; D) D4 S8 oof Canada
- u1 V1 C: U! P! _3 l• have a Social Insurance Number( h6 _! o+ h" ]" ^
• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check# ?# |& N; J' W8 P
• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent& M/ d6 a. P( z
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet
7 n4 @/ ~. P# nthe following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:
