A twelve-week training program for careers in Child Care.

knowledge to help them succeed in entry-level child care positions.

% F: G8 E# h7 P• Standard Child Care First Aid4 b8 b+ T3 F& ?0 W' q
• WHMIS
. y I, n' F: L6 ~# b7 e• Practical and theoretical modules relevant to child care
# S& V: j! {: ~# q% B: O• Components to improve communication skills; q* L$ X9 s7 p- K U$ c3 f
• Modules on Work Place Culture and Work Search2 q( v4 R, _# W ^4 p5 o2 ^. z
• Practicum Placements o: Z' P4 p( h, ?) w
Eligibility Criteria, _5 I0 K( M6 R* J
• be a landed immigrant, convention refugee or new citizen# O+ V# ?& B9 {$ }: g
of Canada
$ W& U* h' R& {% B* I• have a Social Insurance Number
& O t' d7 s# f7 b% G. |• provide a completed criminal record check and child welfare check
7 M' w, S! P# s* M. R9 W• CLBA score of at least 4 or completion of LINC 4 or equivalent4 _% @) Y9 `2 h! _7 @ ?, c
• demonstrate commitment to participating in a 12 week full-time

Participants may be eligible for Grant Funding if they meet I4 s5 F% R( k: Q W$ T
the following requirements, in addition to the one listed above:4 t8 p% O7 m3 }" J }& r6 e
• be unemployed or underemployed.
1 \, R. Y6 X! [$ u& @. ]They CANNOT quit their job to take the course
