* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
$ s4 `) Y* y/ m: R * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis
8 l/ t# Y$ _. q; B0 T, e, j * Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance
( N4 K4 x2 G7 Z9 h: ?8 O2 ? * Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students
0 R5 s6 T7 ?/ c2 t" [ * Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies
