* Conducts isotopic analysis of geological samples using Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometry, including performing isotopic analysis of standard samples and control solutions to verify machine performance specifications
- B2 z3 j- C3 B0 f S& ]! i+ { * Loads purified samples to filaments for analysis& H) M+ p+ k' K8 u: n
* Performs data entry and ensures quality control and quality assurance/ I3 R! K. |* ]
* Coordinates instrument analysis schedules for Research Associates, Post Doctoral Fellows and Graduate Students 2 d; s; \7 g8 \2 ^* ~5 {3 `5 k* J( b( ^
* Provides general technical support and routine husbandry for the Mass Spectrometry Laboratory, including preparing filaments (welding and out gassing) for analysis for use by self and others; cleaning instrument components and conducting minor repairs/replacement of components; checking glassware and pipettes; orders consumables and supplies) e0 y+ C3 H: `8 P5 ?8 {4 @
* Delivers completed data to users; maintains instrument and safety logs
" f. o1 D8 K. |" z5 V2 Z( y * Assists in the upkeep of safety procedures and information; completes routine checks on safety equipment

Qualifications
+ H1 u$ p" u \# i1 I8 [* K- O5 s' s1 h+ l
* Technical Diploma required; a BSc is preferred
7 Q0 a8 f- B9 _* c * Minimum of one year of related experience in some aspect of analytical mass spectrometry is required
