The fund raiser will be held on June 7, 2009. Your organization can help us in different ways: 1) by publicizing this event, 2) being a sponsor, 3) donating an item for our silent auction, and/or 4) buying a table of ten tickets. Edmonton ALPHA will acknowledge your support in our program brochure.

K! y: Q3 z& qEdmonton ALPHA is a chapter of Canada ALPHA (Association for Learning and Preserving the History of WWII in Asia), a cross-Canada group of volunteer teachers, scholars and other interested people who share two common goals: (1) to seek a formal apology from the Government of Japan to those who were the victims of its aggression during WWII, and (2) to foster genuine and long-lasting reconciliation between Japan and its Asian neighbours. 5 R/ B. d0 e) y5 e9 A& A

Beginning in 2004, Canada ALPHA has helped sponsor Canadian teacher participation on study tours to China and Korea. During such study tours, teachers meet with scholars, lawyers, museum curators and--most importantly--survivors of Imperial Japan's atrocities. ( n7 K& h8 N) i8 C; f
