5 V( N/ @9 y2 G/ z/ M, Y9 yFAVA is currently looking for a Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant to join the FAVA team for 12 weeks in the summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization
4 m* o' f4 ]- Q- Y6 V, P. twhose mandate is to support the production and exhibition of film, video and media 8 {2 U/ P8 Z0 d4 ?, Q" l4 I! }
artists from Northern Alberta.

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from $ C. e# w6 C8 @# n2 A
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video $ o6 _$ t) K1 T, c
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
/ B* A& a$ g, k- jresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and / C; `* L6 Q! c; t. g
screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern 0 }+ [4 E q- L7 b" b( A# i2 \
Alberta.

Job Description: The Film, Video & Media Arts Assistant will report to the Executive
4 l' e* |# B5 j, J. O5 sDirector and work with the Production Coordinator and Maintenance Coordinator by
4 q# N, W& ^, l2 b" |4 R+ Qassisting in the day-to-day operations of the Production Department. 9 D6 b0 I+ N* s, P
* w& E" d$ [7 j: u; A
Duties:
" T# {) {. A _$ T4 X; |- Assist with research on acquisition grants
( Y) N1 n% g! P; f" @, o- Assist with production and post-production gear and facilities 0 d# T* ~' w( ^; B8 O; t1 s$ _4 N
- Assist with equipment maintenance 2 G; n% ?. M0 H$ K* y
- Assist with production logistics for programming events 1 l+ t+ J& g! Q4 d: @1 Z/ F0 t; l3 h
- Assist with communication with members and interoffice staff
) L" {" ?: l) E: \* b! S* n- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable , e: {& k8 ^9 v _$ @0 E
- Provide vacation relief

- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts ' T2 U9 Z, t3 J4 W$ {
- Advance skills in technical aspects of film and video equipment 2 M6 j5 R7 W% Z
- Advance organizational and research skills + Y4 g9 x7 W+ N% |1 v1 d) d
- Advance skills of current trends in technology i.e. HD # E9 A4 q% n, [, Q2 ^
- Strong team player abilities
