FAVA is currently looking for a Librarian to join the FAVA team for 10 weeks in the
summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to
; k8 p0 y! K  V; k6 B4 H* G  S7 psupport the production and exhibition of film, video and media artists from Northern
Alberta.
$ Y: c  ]9 ^/ ~* d
FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from
* Q; k( n- }' Y8 Xemerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
and media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
2 N8 d! }" U5 e  Z: ?; u# U/ Vresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
1 n% _9 [- Z, U/ ?screenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern
Alberta.

Job Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the
- x+ t: R4 _, v7 B: H4 V- ?5 WFAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
well as the script, magazine and book library.

8 x2 R; I+ ^2 {4 E+ {% ~8 cDuties:
0 M" s( h6 A! t. G$ o" l  p! f- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books
& O& }4 Q: j. p$ [, `7 Q- Implement a catalogue template for future use
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable

- Funding for this position is provided by the Summer Temporary Employment Program

* \) E, T/ \, p3 J" C- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-
/ h* |/ o: _$ v. u9 Z0 e2 ?" [secondary training, university preferred
- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week
- Length of position: 10 consecutive weeks

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have:
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
- Strong organizational skills
% p- p% ^0 W6 p9 ?8 T- Experience or training in library sciences preferred

- Strong team player abilities
