summer of 2009. FAVA is a non-profit, charitable organization whose mandate is to

FAVA serves members with diverse backgrounds and levels of experience, ranging from $ i3 y* P5 O3 ^) @/ v% w
emerging, mid-range to established artists with an unwavering passion for film, video
1 O5 Q8 w) y& F* Oand media art. FAVA offers: a variety of workshops for artistic and skill development; is a
% ^0 f% ^4 i$ jresource for production equipment and post-production facilities; hosts events and
1 y! Q+ x R" L/ n5 K/ O6 e Iscreenings; and fosters and develops a dynamic media arts community in Northern

3 j$ Q" W( j, r& ?& gJob Description: The Librarian will report to the Executive Director and work with the ! ~" b& ~- O9 M& \
FAVA staff by organizing and updating two libraries: the film, video and digital library; as
K& k/ L7 L! ~( A o8 t8 D; s Fwell as the script, magazine and book library. N- r& x0 r8 T

- Sort and catalogue the film, video and digital library : M6 ?' [, I1 A: @* L4 ~
- Sort and catalogue scripts, magazine and books d# V5 J$ f5 N5 V# N- P
- Implement a catalogue template for future use 6 j/ J% R6 a V
- Update and develop loaning policy and procedure / r4 R6 o+ ~3 G1 d
- Enforce FAVA’s standard of use policies where applicable ! I& D. L {9 {2 p, z' g

- Applicants must be unemployed and attending (or have recently completed) a post-

- Wage is $15.00 per hour, 35 hours per week * Z1 k, A/ h% x, u

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have: ' I1 c" L2 T) E V2 f$ j5 S) I* {1 G
- A passionate interest in film, video and media arts
+ N% X+ ?/ ]; L5 L" f- Strong organizational skills
. I! n7 O/ }/ E' b9 X5 ?; E5 o- Experience or training in library sciences preferred t7 H; W+ x7 j. h% M& q
- Exceptional communication skills, written and verbal

- Interest in working for an arts organization that is governed by a Board of Directors
