動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.8 I. H8 s4 P8 l# B

8 N/ a# E( j) ]1 J' oThe boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.6 H6 z/ f/ S" M- E! l* L

& t; N& w# F: J; M- g, N( PThe Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '- {% j, F2 o( G& _( G! O: p1 t
收銀員說:『抱歉!你買這娃娃的錢不夠。』

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
) H" n% v! l" I4 Y% v$ Jare you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

' z' X- [" J) r9 t" z& d9 ]1 kThe old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '
( V, X7 |3 j- u老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」
/ v6 u5 y1 h+ o/ b; ^3 T& N 9 V5 X6 U: q3 l* V

7 C6 u: r. t; X/ e2 o& [2 aThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.# m) g3 @7 D3 y* F8 r" O, k

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '% T% z' e. C2 F+ n9 T" u2 ^

! Q2 p9 n; l1 sThen he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '3 O4 K2 i( J1 I3 Y# z' [. v3 R

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '. ]3 s  @9 c. [; c: N- ^0 P& x
我趕緊摸著錢包對小男孩說『我們再檢查一下,說不定您有足夠的錢買玩偶! 』

& G, L, z, ^8 l$ d2 J7 M'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
/ F- V* e+ }/ M# X$ Y% m『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

) A" ?9 J* [1 A) m) ]The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '
# h4 f( p! ?2 H$ t; G小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』

' G; o9 Z$ w) c+ K" x0 yThen he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '1 ?6 i) e$ ~/ i/ x  K

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.0 \6 W6 Q+ y# E& a. B1 K

! v* |, L5 P2 k% Q$ [I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young* ?# o, X) b$ Z* s
woman and a little girl.- o0 @# K( S, g. c8 o/ r8 L3 J
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。  R% f) X: K8 Z

The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
- O) B# ~8 c  }# C* Z; r* ostate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the; y1 \  P, i! e: P# V
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma./ Z3 Q" N; F# i0 b+ |

1 f9 B( C3 c4 ]9 Z6 e( p$ d+ BI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.* o7 H  j, v. \6 Q  n6 A: A
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。' e: {4 B" B; S7 U8 N

) t$ z% u. Y9 F; l5 z0 J/ ~9 HShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.1 _+ M" P8 D1 {, p$ W* M( e2 ?/ |0 k

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
