動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.! ?: K0 d* i- N/ D
我在「塔杰」商店閒逛時,看到收銀員將一些錢退還給小男孩。

The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.

這男孩不過5、6歲。

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '

" T/ s# j* f/ K5 n) Y# H1 E( lThen the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,4 c% h' d5 v2 h, k5 Q+ L
are you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '

「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '
$ X6 ^; E! A3 T2 }老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」

$ C  S  |4 D2 U$ a4 B9 O3 }  L# q( [7 `* A  q6 m" {
Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

! v7 x" [! n7 S0 B0 x'It ' s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

His eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '+ O& Z2 S8 v7 h% W, q, m) j% C- P

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

  P4 X* B4 F2 c- |* _( q( v'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.5 W& ?6 |4 C  k- A+ l/ c
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。

Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

+ \% v# j4 o- s7 D: A. h- M. ^'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn ' t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose. ' '

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.! J' f" T$ S: {3 G4 N. H# ]2 Y! [

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young

我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。

The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical, B  t: G8 r% `' _7 u9 v; C  O
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
( {# ]0 y) L2 T( D& g; q3 [6 Ilife-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.1 W+ Z0 x8 j1 O8 c$ E6 a( `
小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管

- u/ `6 h( z  e" h- ZI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.0 A' y5 ^6 e3 T& k2 U$ g
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。6 v9 u0 i3 V2 d' o5 @8 }

) @9 N$ y7 g4 l9 |& k7 i. ^0 ^She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.8 v) i3 ?4 x+ B: J4 p& k

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is6 Y  h3 ]( I* F% O' T6 C
still, to this day, hard to imagine.

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
