動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '* U$ l7 t1 c; n! y. s

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
5 D' Q. `# X/ ~' q  w0 _; z& j. T( f! Yare you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '
/ K4 j1 m, [, p, B小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:- L  X: c" i  k: ~

The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '" C( J- f+ R! v, Q/ q8 ^8 q
老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」0 j: W6 d- T8 ~% D

1 k0 c* \/ W9 I2 ?" YThen she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.* B* q3 x2 A8 U  h; j9 @, U7 c

! n  t$ I* s. UI replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

5 Q' \6 J# @" T, }  ^/ N$ P# E4 }But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

The little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '
' g# t. o+ D8 W9 y1 \- v, \0 y小男孩看我說:『我叫爸爸告訴媽媽現在不要走,讓她等我從購物中心回來。』
; n7 ]  u5 U5 {; e! X ; ]/ P- K( X, x" K
Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. ', S( {! A, D# {0 C# i  e

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.1 v# w6 b. F& A6 V. S. t  s% p

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
' N- X* z" }( j1 Y$ g『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。/ [$ x8 y/ x+ L+ \0 ]( @

2 q1 D: g, N  h6 h. T$ C3 u( O* @) `0 ~The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '
0 E# P( |, ^% O小男孩說:『謝謝上帝給了我足 的錢!』0 n, |. R. X2 \  i/ U

8 v# |8 D7 w9 Q& S! U, f; g2 ZThen he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '

A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.+ C; e- Z2 F: I1 }- y1 z

I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.+ Y% M  t0 k3 T

' _  Z- _0 Z4 p7 W  B9 QThen I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young8 S$ n" e) M# C5 E& z6 J# o
woman and a little girl.- [! p" ^5 R1 I7 ^: R
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。4 d+ X' x' R: x

0 R1 R  t7 w3 n4 Y/ n. Z- _0 m; LThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical, ^# v- Y) m. p/ I
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the7 j. _! C1 R& i9 L7 y& z
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.8 k2 ]2 g" S! B( B. ?: V1 h
小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

I couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.' Y$ C4 n9 {. T+ ]+ f6 a
我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。8 Y8 l  y$ W* w+ u- s' [- j; `

8 f" e' p) x9 HShe was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.8 J2 F% V, a' Z. r

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is
