動人心弦的小男孩 (Little Boy Touches Hearts)

I was walking around in a Target store, when I saw a Cashier hand this little boy some money back.

The boy couldn ' t have been more than 5 or 6 years old.: l8 p) {+ `2 v

The Cashier said, ' I ' m sorry, but you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll. '

Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ' ' Granny,
7 a4 `& S# F" b9 m6 Rare you sure I don ' t have enough money? ' '- I9 U. |! B- Q7 F% b4 h6 z
小男孩轉向他旁邊的老婦人:. Z6 r9 L+ D% T- v% S1 q; d# W
  n6 p/ s5 V: d
「奶奶!妳也認為我的錢不 嗎?」
! i6 H  W) U6 }* y  P) Z4 x - H% r% @2 c6 G9 C' k! j3 l
The old lady replied: ' ' You know that you don ' t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear. ' '% o- |) p+ b: o1 _1 B  D
老婦人回道:「親愛的!你知道買這個娃娃的錢是不夠的。」$ Q3 D$ c0 x  i+ m! `0 r9 R- t

  H* Q% j  O, ~& m8 e  ~- H5 I+ j9 E- R+ d
Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly.

* `/ p+ x+ _, w7 fFinally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.

She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her. '

I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.

1 E( l* n; G9 X' R) X, ~But he replied to me sadly. ' No, Santa Claus can ' t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there. '

His eyes were so sad while saying this. ' My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister. ' '

+ x' F/ e7 f9 @2 j( p2 DThe little boy looked up at me and said: ' I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall. '
# d& B2 i! I" S+ o& b, I2 W0 d- B小男孩看我說:『我叫爸爸告訴媽媽現在不要走,讓她等我從購物中心回來。』

Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ' I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won ' t forget me. '

Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.

I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ' Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll! ' '

'OK ' he said, ' I hope I do have enough. ' I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.& F& `( C* |( o1 H/ D
『好呀!』他說『我希望有足夠的錢』。沒讓他看見,我塞了一些錢到他的錢包中,我們開始數錢。買娃娃的錢足 了,甚之還有剩餘呢。2 W9 m- t5 ^; K4 o/ ]

The little boy said: ' Thank you God for giving me enough money! '

% x8 e/ D  j& Y( r5 B) A 9 Y7 C+ b& ~! {- T5 V& |; ?3 E
Then he looked at me and added, ' I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me! ' '0 ~( }9 O. D' _4 W- T1 h: A+ {

6 m3 s- c9 g9 KI finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started.

I couldn ' t get the little boy out of my mind.

1 {9 C$ u& F2 V/ m6 D) c4 YThen I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young
+ b% m* }- R, o& qwoman and a little girl.$ o1 k' M; [8 x& Z2 o; L/ x! x6 n
我想起兩天前當地報紙的一篇文章,提及一位醉酒卡車司機,撞上了一輛載著年輕少婦和一個小女孩的汽車。

$ k. {* d+ D2 N. i& k9 i, v4 w' E& ?, mThe little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
3 \: ~% U4 l; o2 M  \. c+ qstate. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
# s0 j, F, p- U. F5 Ulife-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
; F8 g5 I) s+ x. b0 ~$ u/ o小女孩當場死亡,母親呈現彌留狀態。 這個家庭必須決定是否要拔出維持生命機器的插管

Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.

" q- D* p, V8 G2 R; b$ uI couldn ' t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
: z3 X6 Q7 x7 M8 }6 M我不自主的買了一束白玫瑰,來到喪家,年輕少婦的遺體在她埋葬前讓人瞻仰與最後許願。

She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.

I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is. `& d  M1 K, u7 m# X3 b4 C; j# I
still, to this day, hard to imagine.* x7 p) Z3 d- F2 x/ z0 E

对自己负责。对别人负责,对社会负责,请勿酒后驾车。因为这个小男孩有可能成为你家的孩子。
