9 i8 j4 d4 H% ?6 gBig Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. Together with the Africa Centre, we are looking for 2 temporary full time summer student staff.

2 Multicultural Summer Camp Program Students
0 [4 Q( Q/ }: x t$ g' M( k(10 week @ 35 hours a week contract. Must be returning to school). y4 J4 b C* k+ l( V J0 E) t( `
0 t' Y: l5 o1 DKey Responsibilities Include
9 Z3 y9 M% e, e9 {1 wActivity Planning and Daily Activity, }2 Q3 J+ w: y9 _7 x3 L6 E% h
• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
" D% s: U2 {* ^• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring. K& k# Z6 P9 X6 _6 A
• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
% Y# n4 g7 w9 a1 A1 Y8 F G• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
$ v2 t* i6 e* \. F" E" N ^• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
. g1 t1 g) R& p( O* N" @; }" B• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal./ F4 J# \! Z- I6 v8 W/ {

The successful candidate will have:
1 w' {8 Z3 Y$ Z$ W4 Y" }1 F% d/ f" {% d• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting8 x! L! y7 @ G; ?/ e, e
• Experience with children" u( W }% N- @5 _* o
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
" G2 `, G( F7 r: R/ D* }* o8 o• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.- L0 S. J# f% V' G
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
; V# ~4 C/ \( Z5 V5 u* k& H• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources. L5 {, p8 ^! V
• A clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
& k' M, j8 L$ f+ J7 Z- t' w• A clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check ( W7 e9 ?0 k+ a0 F
