Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

8 A. Y) ?5 `2 VKey Responsibilities Include:
: S) A/ Z$ o! ^# ]- [% ?+ G; Q9 JActivity Planning and Daily Activity
~. d4 n. ~$ M: y7 E3 D% s! Y• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
$ H" G9 A/ }' F1 c% U• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
' ^) d8 ` [9 Q• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
; p+ E7 L2 ]) R& T4 A- W• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
! t* G" i4 d) ?& u+ a5 H• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.# R+ ^! y7 m3 B& |2 `
• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.1 B! }, ?/ Y2 i$ l5 j
( R" x. a. F) YThe successful candidate will have:6 y, I# ^: W2 J9 c* T$ S& H
• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
8 }/ l; \; v, }# v• Experience with children/ g2 F% O. z0 b) K5 c$ H
• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
! [& Y+ l) u3 r• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.- }9 J6 {* \3 e6 U" p9 y
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
* C& P1 J$ M3 ~4 H1 D" j; k• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
% d9 D9 u4 k" U2 |4 z6 j1 i• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check
' W0 J* U3 B- J* V& ]• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
