Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families. We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff. $ K# H' ~5 N! s, a$ ?

/ ^$ u( j/ H1 [Key Responsibilities Include:: W# [' G; ^9 m) J4 H
Activity Planning and Daily Activity
3 r& a c# y" s* [• Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their resilience, relationship building and leadership.
; _4 l0 q0 ]; m- D0 B* v• Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
: M; ^. z! N; l F3 j2 z+ M" j( D• Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer and volleyball,
1 h; `: ^: C/ u. U$ X7 k) f& R• Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.4 r. X$ M* B! T8 R1 U7 ?& x$ k
• Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
+ g0 L% f3 i: g• Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

• The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting/ L" Q' R1 N& @; ]' \$ Q0 W
• Experience with children
4 ]- Y7 y6 R# ~• Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth 5 p* u) _6 z8 N
• Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.' S+ S6 S2 G9 ]( L) g/ X: l& N
• Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented." P: f X8 V' m% ^9 Z5 Q6 w
• Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources) L U- b! U$ Z" c$ X0 }$ s- c
• Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check " Y* x* c5 o8 A1 O2 q% X
• Documentation of a clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check 9 X% b& P. }* {3 Q
