Big Brothers Big Sisters of Edmonton and Area provides mentoring programs to more than 2,800 children, youth and families.  We are looking for 4 temporary full time summer staff.

; w3 E3 a$ |5 c/ F: x(8 week contract @ 35 hours a week)

: K0 r# P1 F' B" @( ?, j' ]Key Responsibilities Include:
& X7 @/ p2 m" B. B/ KActivity Planning and Daily Activity
•        Assist in planning, organizing and relevant activities for children and youth to explore new avenues including leadership & life skills, recreation, and their cultural community that enhance their  resilience, relationship building and leadership.
( D, }5 Z& h7 j% H( w. F•        Participate in the delivery of all programs in the areas of crafts, sports and tutoring.
! c% G* U' v; ?% R& d& _•        Participate in and lead sporting activities; know and have the ability to apply game rules for basketball, soccer  and volleyball,
! u4 y( _6 x0 ~0 C1 E, {0 k  `•        Provide proper supervision in all activities to ensure the safety of the program participants.
•        Supervise the children and youth at breakfast and lunch time.
. L# A# _0 D6 V( k2 G•        Help to maintain housekeeping standards by ensuring all program facilities are left clean after each activity and each meal.

+ `  G7 c! i" nThe successful candidate will have:
•        The enthusiasm and ability to work with a variety of ages of youth in a group setting
  X+ r( }* e: G$ \+ Y! n2 P•        Experience with children
8 }6 d4 M6 z0 q% o•        Demonstrated knowledge of sporting, activity planning for youth
. J, Q; Y. L% f: e/ y8 F•        Knowledge the English language and the ability to support math tutoring.
" `2 F& I6 s5 }9 s" L1 I•        Ability to manage time effectively and be results oriented.
•        Knowledge of children’s activities and community resources
- Z: }2 F) O) @/ N3 r6 E•        Documentation of a clear CYIM (Child & Youth Information Management) check  
•        Documentation of a  clear vulnerable sector Security Clearance check
