Program Overview:

. W# x1 S+ v9 ]( }$ ^9 f$ l* SIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
5 ?5 e( C6 c8 ^! gskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
2 B. \7 {! k5 }, f4 Z! Y+ wwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
* [% Y7 [, J% J  G2 {6 E, ?$ x+ Nservices and others.

) p1 O! c/ v5 f" `/ PCandidate Profile:

Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
$ x" }9 ^' k4 m" M5 F& y*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
& F8 @1 a3 N! wsecondary education
, F1 K8 j: Z& K+ {5 z% L. }& E, {*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
/ ]1 R0 p  ]; a/ j0 z+ q; ^*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
, P4 |: b/ y2 Y$ Q: M1 K*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

$ U0 x# h3 t- E9 f: t2 ~, s                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
+ _4 O1 d. f* ^field trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
( k2 {4 A! M8 ]/ L' u, c( P! }high-demand occupations
( i9 Z, |) v& s5 u3 s) _        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
7 C, L+ o9 c+ P/ v; q, V* ~        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement
