Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
* c. v' Q% `: X5 n% Rskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
3 e7 N) K! y. M' }0 ?& Xprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
" W% f, `$ ^' ?& S0 _8 R: Rexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:
1 V$ ]: x2 E8 u" z
8 n! A. F1 t8 Y+ U/ ]0 G3 QCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
) d0 {$ C7 r7 f; Ccitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
0 f* U5 L' ]' f& C3 g) [*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
, C# `& @) t+ Q- |5 s; ~9 ?: N*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
! f$ z/ [+ ?( k: `0 Doccupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
+ X3 s/ {4 M  x+ \9 _*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
3 a, f5 |# a: A9 X$ T        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
$ ^6 h/ v) f& ~  w* _- ^4 w  `high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
! R0 F0 C9 v' kInternet, etc.)
8 _  ^0 a! k+ g3 G        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
' w3 n5 Z; t; ~        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
) A( _- U' \: t' p8 U        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
