( [: ^0 k+ E+ N4 `3 a6 }Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
& K* z  `. z  V9 ?skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
. j9 T! N# \# V) swarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
4 E3 `+ g2 F; mservices and others.

Candidate Profile:
& \3 k* x) S9 I: s% |' }' J9 {* {4 R
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
, j5 L( t; U+ |' h' j" }. G*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
! U9 ^4 O/ o, Y% G6 c( q$ }& Q6 I*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
+ c/ ^# {& ^4 c9 E! R( ^1 L7 ]occupation
0 B& I$ j2 p, M( }4 l5 @2 H*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
/ ~7 N. @8 Q4 H2 [* ~+ h4 f*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
) L3 l0 L7 ?- Q        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
; @& U2 b! K  Ghigh-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
1 E) V; |& f/ T4 U# qInternet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
5 {* U: H7 A; S( w/ ~        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

) p2 {$ x$ x! l  R        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
