Integrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
program combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
, n& i/ f6 f, f$ @9 \4 `experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
9 E, N  w# ?8 e9 }warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:
0 i% a+ E, u* S5 U, E) \0 g: n, `
Candidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
  _- g% J* O' Q0 S4 ^! B8 b  pcitizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
+ j) M9 L1 s6 I8 L  K$ O*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
* H) r4 q* Z; D*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
3 W! V  {) p' F1 tsecondary education
*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
% S: ?7 N6 I& ]4 A0 w+ m8 N*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
: w" _9 R3 b0 Z) y5 ]*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
9 h+ C: K3 I6 X* N0 b% N$ @8 f*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

Program Description:

field trips
* D, e$ V/ s1 W$ H& z4 x        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
0 [3 o( y* B0 {& K$ uhigh-demand occupations
: x) s7 ~: f6 K4 ?$ u# ?  }3 i        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
$ `, o$ Y3 y3 g1 W9 e7 j6 ~Internet, etc.)
        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
! [. }* h1 a. G" h3 a$ g* t+ ^        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
