8 }: M, u+ {7 l. uIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
& G5 l1 d% }! n  |. _/ ?- Pskills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
- U; s- h. Q; Jprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
experience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
warehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
services and others.

Candidate Profile:

) a1 t  c: C* l& U+ fCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
9 _8 c1 O9 A. \' n2 z0 N*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
; \; R; l; u6 m+ ^' h# m4 F4 \*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job
*        Resided in Alberta for the past 3 months

& p- }6 @5 i* P4 B+ oProgram Description:

% g" o4 }2 z. Z  y+ \+ }                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
7 W: z- F+ ^4 mfield trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
1 R4 v& d  T$ y: X9 D) R$ \Internet, etc.)
) f/ U3 ~" _& E- x4 A6 I4 e        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
3 L# G. V' g- E; l6 p                        *        1 month work-experience placement

Class Schedule and Location:

        *        9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. (tentative)
        *        All classes are held at The Path to Employment, 10211 - 97
Street, Edmonton
