8 A, {* e9 K: O! B+ z8 P* dIntegrated Employability Skills Training gives immigrants the essential
skills needed for success in the Alberta workplace. This 5-month funded
* Q. D8 s: c' o$ f' J6 K" w# Gprogram combines classroom-based training with work site visits and work
$ Q" C* m* F, n6 E3 d" Eexperience placements in high-demand semi-skilled occupations, such as
! c1 S0 w  O2 d  Zwarehousing, customer service, hospitality, healthcare support, food
9 t$ N( y* Y& }. Aservices and others.

# m  c+ K4 t& JCandidate Profile:
+ M. R6 X! f& V3 j! m. l  B
! h. s- ^/ ~! SCandidates for this funded program must be landed immigrants, Canadian
citizens or refugees who are eligible to work in Canada and who have:
; x& s! P6 Z/ m*        English communication skills in the 4 - 6 range on CLB
*        Basic literacy and numeracy skills and some secondary or post-
secondary education
# Y+ C" i9 i# z+ G) c3 R5 M* m) R*        A genuine interest in finding permanent employment in a high-demand
occupation
  c- M- o4 E$ ]* L/ a*        Availability to study fulltime for 5 months and then be employed
* x; q& W. L( x! I$ Q*        Willingness to commit to a program and future job

Program Description:

. H% Y# g. l; U8 o& Z4 M                        *        4 months classroom-based instruction and
field trips
        *        Improve your English while learning about a variety of
9 X1 c6 R. {" @/ Q7 R5 {& e6 |- h/ S9 M8 `high-demand occupations
        *        Increase computer skills (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
Internet, etc.)
3 L6 b! k8 p+ V* h* d        *        Write a winning resume and improve interview skills
6 K- W  F  P; O7 }" o3 `; `! \        *        Get First Aid/CPR and WHMIS certificates
: _0 j# ^# P. v        *        Take advantage of one-on-one employment counseling
                        *        1 month work-experience placement

        *        September 12, 2005 to January 31, 2006
