* Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
$ R3 V8 w _3 ]4 z: n* A * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
( J U# ]/ r, o4 |: o& X$ h * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps: t2 _, [# r8 M7 ~3 S
* Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations* j/ j0 a6 Y- ~. J5 b
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations1 c2 p6 i$ `/ D0 q0 r# {

3 z6 _; G3 Y' w- F! h1 F * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred
& E, _. W( O- ~9 v * Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation- B) |: E* k) R. ?5 ^. ?
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers+ t0 Z% q2 f. ~# u0 }
* WHMIS training
( ~( p6 d: X4 O/ R * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
