. o5 h) e1 `$ ]% u3 |1 P3 ] * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
4 {# e3 [5 l, U+ W0 v8 e8 Z: I * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr
0 u0 T/ }" c$ l3 K' y * Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
7 O7 j7 |( a8 p3 G: L+ ^) B4 @ * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations; I4 c8 L4 s! f
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations* i: R2 p# a" B) R& I

Qualifications
3 z4 R! ^: q; T7 c7 r8 i+ P
; M/ K7 i4 p8 o( f * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred& w5 b9 E7 N" J9 ?
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation
7 n' r6 x. p, m! S( m * Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers2 B- G7 ~0 v: C3 P( p5 `; U2 U
* WHMIS training
" s, n6 u3 J$ Z, J# K# h2 Q * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset" d8 Q( E# ^0 `2 b
