# I! H) k4 g( m" Y) ^+ ?7 l9 O * Provides technical support and husbandry of the Thermal Ionization Mass Spectrometer (TIMS) Laboratory
6 D) `$ l; Y. I+ i * Performs isotopic analyses on a broad spectrum of chemical elements, including Pb, Os, Nd, Sr. f. x" R6 n, k! w ?# D4 c3 Y( q
* Completes routine maintenance on the TIMS and auxiliary equipment, such as vacuum pumps
0 @" i, B X9 t A9 N- x1 | * Performs data compilation, analysis and data reduction calculations- N* Y, A' {5 F8 Q, z1 G( E
* Trains users on the mass spectrometer and reduction calculations

Qualifications
/ _0 {3 D2 Q- N9 n
- S% B+ ?8 B$ _+ l) @5 d * Technical diploma in Physical Sciences, preferably Geological Sciences or equivalent; BSc in Geology or Chemistry is preferred2 \9 x- j9 _/ E6 a
* Specialized training on thermal ionization mass spectrometers, geochemical analyses, and instrumentation2 w% P% r' \* \6 a" c m$ L
* Experience in an established research laboratory with demonstrated knowledge of lab safety regulations and procedures including general lab hygiene and specific safety protocols for thermal ionization mass spectrometers
4 a& e I7 U N/ V% D( h* m: @ * WHMIS training
* i, K) ^4 N9 m1 C! { * Computer competency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and programming experience would be an asset
