Duties: Special Events , L+ u: ^. _2 |0 z" C2 s
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
9 T! M. T1 ^( K5 t· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
: y) d: A4 Q, H1 n$ l" B$ }· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
0 W' D' R; s. C0 h9 m7 Kwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
s2 m; N9 {* f# a9 j% dadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure
! f. w$ L1 E! N4 v5 b/ q7 ]8 d ^set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
+ |: K$ W( v# E· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions 9 d6 B. X! Z2 B, M& u* j) i
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
# _7 ~8 X: n; d· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers ' ~( G/ t8 _$ V; B0 x; ?
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers # }) L1 h) q5 O8 k/ M
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

- [& R" N7 ]/ x# FQualifications:
% A% X/ c% s/ \! I· Completion of 12th
: s. r0 j2 ?' X- I7 V Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation / b7 a7 {. v9 `& I. C
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
* G, Z# V$ Q: ^( h: J· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
6 }/ |2 y/ {$ sexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
6 j* i! K1 a7 S% W3 c/ G9 ~· Experience working with and managing volunteers
! H) j3 B. }% Z7 Y· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
! I; D" H* A0 [4 ^· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
9 \$ h: t6 J9 R( [· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training " W: D9 `6 f2 {+ L2 m

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
