SPECIAL EVENTS/VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR

Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 7 l6 S2 B& l& v, n
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: ' H2 F- r& C, E1 \9 P5 T3 \

Duties: Special Events + Z7 q0 Z0 G+ b# P
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
& Q* b9 g) Q- R) i- Q8 @3 o! G· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee & L, b% \1 U2 [% R" m; Y
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
3 p. n' v% L- k" H6 Xwith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
R- l+ y3 c( M* O8 C, ?) aadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure + b# U1 q/ q, E$ X8 c
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events. + X1 F) }+ s0 c @$ h' J
· Attend and manage Special Events
8 v+ L. P+ @1 u/ `4 L· Attend and take minutes for Special Events Committee

Duties: Volunteer Coordination + W* S: j% N. x' D- ~0 F
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 0 S3 q4 ~# n& }
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions
: D. [+ ]" |& ^+ U· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
, O0 I0 m. K+ z· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers - w. Y- R( [% H! P3 b9 y
· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers
. M( w$ L' R! I: N% u( }/ s8 R· Complete program administration, statistics and records
$ t* F3 o- }8 Y$ l8 p- {+ F 6 K; J, X, B5 m& b/ r' f3 U
Qualifications: 6 n/ x2 M7 | d- X: t. i
· Completion of 12th; U3 k- \% `# G) C/ c+ }! l
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation ( I8 Z4 h V& w; o% ~, h5 a* @& R" c6 s
Administration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. : w. m z# b3 M! f
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
/ \/ h2 _) p# J; l1 e# }experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events % F9 r, y" \% h6 w( c
· Experience working with and managing volunteers * ]' V- ]" @7 U
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors
( z# g0 u! C- C3 ]$ j· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
& D8 d$ ]) u- Z4 z· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
