Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special 5 [" f3 N: g+ a
Events and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to: - s, I9 m$ N1 g* N+ g: r O" L

Duties: Special Events : @5 k/ e( \, T
Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events: 6 L/ J+ f* J$ z9 v" E2 ]
· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee
/ z9 `/ f. {. w3 I* @· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist
- v) A3 C0 t2 i2 x5 ^$ ]: p2 Awith decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the , Z( r& y! @- X5 J
advertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure ' R# s8 U' ~; l, K
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program: 6 I5 ~+ G; g* ^/ `- m5 s/ D
· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions " ?9 k, e) n. V. ^4 s* i: J0 f* D
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers
% h ^% Y2 J; I6 B2 K( I2 R· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
& a6 ]1 U. W ?' N0 y6 N· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers # b3 u% b% d; o# P- Q; h5 W8 @' w
· Complete program administration, statistics and records 3 x: {! ~ J8 d3 q

Qualifications: ' V1 n6 }2 ^( X* G, } L4 |
· Completion of 12th/ [ H- u$ O1 e s$ {
Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
0 S0 Y6 { R! x4 WAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent.
, i/ `/ S5 {: z" V' ]: f7 }6 z· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct ) v- ]9 S: E: C9 ]' g! ~
experience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
2 ~; v7 l! ]* O' }· Experience working with and managing volunteers
4 y/ Y3 [: C4 q7 _* I' ~· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors , }# U' Y& _7 s0 N. m9 h
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events / }9 E+ _" M0 M; o) J; o! o( M* }
· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training
2 S7 n8 r/ s9 U· Security Clearance

Wages: $16 - $20/hour depending on qualifications
