Under the direction of the Program Coordinator and in collaboration with CLSA Special
5 T/ g8 F+ ^" S: N! M1 J& v0 HEvents and Volunteer Committees, this position will be responsible to:

Plan, implement and evaluate Special Events:
& e: B! J5 P+ Z( i' b· Select and develop themes in collaboration with the Committee ( ^4 T* |- f. J( o/ c; c2 ~6 `
· Oversee event logistics: book entertainment, catering services and venue; assist " ^& I2 @# P+ K, v2 q' C0 E
with decorating; ensure tickets and invitations are available; assist with the
8 d3 m1 W8 a; q( P& Dadvertising of events; recruit, place and supervise volunteers for events; ensure $ U8 a( a5 o N2 D
set-up and clean-up; monitor event budget and complete evaluation of events.

Duties: Volunteer Coordination 5 v( b4 K9 Y+ V8 l; X1 v( U2 G. u
Assist in developing and implementing a volunteer program:
1 t6 i `& _) d· Develop job descriptions for volunteer positions , t x O( P. v( B- k+ n' X% X& ~
· Recruit, interview, screen and place prospective volunteers # D) Y) M1 t" Q9 f/ Y+ a+ M
· Provide initial orientation and training for new volunteers
- |0 p. }. }4 ^. ^· Ensure provision of recognition and evaluation of volunteers & W Y$ X4 S- _' o
· Complete program administration, statistics and records

* o; s6 ~+ e" f8 N# [Qualifications:
z; B J8 X# Y. }1 m5 P$ C· Completion of 12th
# O: P2 o# v' C/ T/ t8 L0 d( ]' w/ N Grade and a minimum of a Diploma in Recreation
% w/ f/ S1 ^% N' Z0 |+ x+ nAdministration, Volunteer Management or Special Event Planning or equivalent. ) n2 I+ Z3 Q1 O7 v4 l
· At least one year of experience in Recreation Administration and some direct
$ S4 |4 \: v6 A2 o* fexperience in conducting recreational, cultural or other related events
' }2 d9 W( j+ U5 W# d0 y· Experience working with and managing volunteers 4 [0 T! y0 r, L! S+ `
· Specialized skills and training in working with seniors $ e0 X' Y8 d) f) R! }4 K1 ^+ n
· Ability to instruct, organize and supervise group activities and special events
a( P) N* E% k· Current Standard First Aid, CPR & AED training

Hours: Flexible – some evening and weekend work
