- }) g+ v3 n9 s9 m8 iTHE EDMONTON REGION IMMIGRANT COUNCIL WOULD LIKE TO INVITE YOU TO PARTICIPATE IN THE 24/4 MENTORSHIP PILOT PROGRAM:
24 HOURS OVER 4 MONTHS
' M9 t( z1 J1 ?This fall, the Edmonton Region Immigrant Employment Council (ERIEC) will be launching a mentorship pilot program, where we aim to match skilled immigrants with mentors in their occupations.
Eligibility Criteria
All potential mentee candidates are required to meet the following criteria:
•An internationally educated professional living in Canada for three years or less
8 p* `/ P& S$ ?5 F* B•Have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent post secondary education
•Have Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level 7 or higher in oral English
& }+ m1 A; b1 u6 Y. K. b•At least three years work experience in their area of expertise outside of Canada
•No prior Canadian work experience in their field
8 z% E( A% R7 Y: B2 C0 U•Be unemployed or underemployed – working for 20 hours a week or less
8 \4 H& ]0 u: R% O& I+ d) J•Be eligible to work in Canada
$ _8 J! Z# B, T2 C' s8 v! g7 d•Have a job ready resume and have completed a job search workshop
7 r# Q: H8 g% l: o3 Z5 ?% v2 f: G•Lack access to professional networks
•Be motivated to participate and be open to learning
Time Commitment
The maximum number of hours involved in the ERIEC mentorship program is 6 hours a month for a total of 24 hours over 4 months.  This works out to approximately one and a half hours per week.
