To qualify for an Alberta Qualification Certificate based on work experience, a person must:
! ~2 c* C9 o X( l* X
+ E' }. H1 b# _have at least 8,775 hours and 72 months of ‘hands-on’ work experience as an electrician
4 x8 M% K1 M- S* Q& o! l6 k3 PTime spent on supervisory or foreman duties, counter work, heading the tool crib, or on a training course is NOT counted as ‘hands-on’ work experience.
! H* d; E! P* e( U/ ?( M- b6 }: Y; G) F: G: _
complete the Qualification Certificate - Work Experience Application and submit it to an Apprenticeship and Industry Training Office. \4 y6 q- t9 {8 i: Q
3 U5 N* f) T# c7 Wpay the non-refundable fees as identified on the application noted above
7 B* Q" v; P" a9 y/ L. v3 xThis application fee covers the verification and assessment of the applicant's work experience hours/months as well as one attempt at the Qualification Certificate theory examination. The Qualification Certificate practical examination requires a separate fee as identified on the application noted above.
