Responsibilities:
( g+ F9 `) B* V8 X) C- Design and deliver educational and preventative workshops about addictions to kids & youth9 V7 u& y3 H0 E( x, w4 Z
- Work with a team of actors to develop and deliver of a touring play about problem gambling
+ E( z6 k- K2 `% { z7 e9 G- Build and sustain relationships with schools, social service agencies and community groups
/ U% ?9 c6 S, M; Z: [+ G3 d6 w- Identify community needs and best practices in the area of addictions prevention and further develop the program to meet those needs
6 f3 \! ^; i- h$ S z- Complete regular reporting to Alberta Health Services – Addictions & Mental Health# \2 Y2 ~" q5 `! z5 Z2 {! d

Key Qualifications:* p+ k' U( F" j' C0 R: w
- Post secondary degree or diploma in social/human sciences
# @7 F; B: c1 p/ n; E7 m5 ^0 K- At least 2 years experience in the fields of addictions & mental health, education, health promotion, public health or youth engagement/ O6 o% q2 d& w* `
- Strong ability to work well with youth, community workers, teachers and others! p; v7 h" d4 _- W
- Experience doing program development; c+ h. v9 {* l. r5 l4 c0 t
- Strong organizational and coordination skills
/ I8 O' Z) u- g- Self-directed and able to take initiative
9 v9 U* y& U+ D. m1 ]7 V- Excellent English verbal and written communication skills; fluency in an Asian language is an asset! M7 J' M. F/ c2 w
- Vehicle and valid drivers’ license

- Experience conducting community needs assessments and program evaluation

- An understanding of the relationship between addictions and mental health

- Some evening and weekend work may be required
