! J; l8 G' M3 d* N/ E! V, Y; S0 w) W# H
ironic:5 b ^3 J" y) e/ M1 [# c( ~* l
我在博客上帖了我们一大早赶飞机的照片,孩子们累得睁不还眼,我下面写的评注是: it's hard to tell that we were tired isn't it?
% k' S4 }7 }' x# J- u7 h7 Xthere, I was being ironic
$ N5 w% K I9 w, i) h' b' d. nironic 还可以形容一个situation, 比如:al gore is portrayed as a front line fighter for environmental issues, ironically he owns one of the most gas consuming cars in the world. (好容易让我编出这么个例句来!)& I( h& S0 u3 \$ q5 _# s
sarcastic 有更多感情色彩,有主观上的一种伤害,攻击的意愿,是坏的intention
: d# V, o5 L4 J( Q _) [/ g' |# D! `& ^8 f+ @, R/ f5 `9 i! p" G
还拿如花的例子说,这个情景对话两个词都能用到:
% C. t4 h7 L9 R) [2 m$ V如花: hi 美女
5 L7 h" V& m$ b7 O1 f- M美女: are you being sarcastic?
! [7 y3 l! V5 n7 } ?8 k如花: i swear, i mean it, you are one of the most beautiful girls i‘ve even seen!
# o% y$ w6 |& j, z7 v$ C' r ?$ F美女: thanks! ironically i was just told by my brother:if you are not pretty,better be polite。 |
