When I was a kid, my mom liked to make, R' `4 p, w: Y- N$ f
breakfast food for dinner every now and then. And I remember one night in
$ x% F( o0 a9 [* j4 Bparticular when she had made breakfast after a long, hard day at work. On that
2 B7 Z1 x3 v! F9 Ievening so long ago, my mom placed a plate of eggs, sausage and extremely burned- ~" x w0 _ B: w0 O9 v- @
biscuits in front of my dad.. I remember waiting to see if anyone noticed! Yet
3 O0 s* M, [6 C9 P( ^5 oall my dad did was reach for his biscuit, smile at my mom and ask me how my day: G3 |$ J! }" N0 E( e
was at school. I don't remember what I told him that night, but I do remember H) f3 I) ~9 y2 Q; \
watching him smear butter and jelly on that biscuit and eat every
1 `$ U1 I5 H/ g/ q, Jbite!

& O" I4 Z# V% D- xWhen I got up from the table that evening, I remember hearing my% o. v( ?0 g1 \* R7 {6 g d R
mom apologize to my dad for burning the biscuits. And I'll never forget what he
& H' B( W) c! H* s; ]6 Esaid: "Honey, I love burned biscuits."& Z2 X! ~& z6 o8 ?3 v w, K1 T9 g
( o/ {1 t& l# p' F4 j
Later that night, I went to kiss Daddy good night and I asked him if he really liked his biscuits burned. He wrapped me in his arms and said, "Your Momma put in a hard day at work today and& w; Y0 k& x0 ?! y R+ I* @& y
she's real tired. And besides - a little burnt biscuit never hurt anyone!"3 {% s! c- J0 x3 ]' }
! n- f9 E/ G8 SYou know, life is full of imperfect things.....and imperfect5 Z' o8 z1 X: s
people. I'm not the best at hardly anything, and I forget birthdays and
& K) r" p. e j" i7 ^5 Kanniversaries just like everyone else.& n. ]) b7 c( Q

) }$ }8 t2 V$ R, \" J: e9 C4 W% _5 A/ Q: m
What I've learned over the years is that learning to accept each others faults - and choosing to celebrate
7 b6 T: {$ o' [+ i P: peach others differences - is one of the most important keys to creating a
4 a' j! x# N/ G1 Mhealthy, growing, and lasting relationship.
! W/ Y3 D# Y2 r {' z) ]1 u% B8 ?; |# f% e' b2 ~# C
And that's my prayer for you today. That you will learn to take the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of your life and lay them at the feet of God. Because in the end, He's the only One who will be able to give you a relationship where a burnt biscuit isn't a deal-breaker!: i3 I9 v( F! o" Z# W$ G

We could extend this to any relationship. In fact,
