Responsibilities
) c9 {3 d9 k' X2 ~Assists in the planning, organization and implementation of meaningful programs for the residents of the Extended Care Centre in collaboration with the Activation Manager.
# d. g" r) b4 w& A' G. rWorks co-operatively with the Activation Manager, facility volunteers, families and other staff members.
3 `& I' D' c! @/ H5 m- eMaintains appropriate resident and department records including assessments, evaluations of planned programs detailing anticipated individual participation.
8 m" b( `  A# ]2 O- h( I$ x& o) [Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents, families, volunteers and staff of other departments.
$ I; ]% l2 T# R" _4 ]8 X' KIs knowledgeable of the Resident Bill of Rights/Governing Principles and endeavors to promote it.
Participates in team conferences to plan, develop and assess individual resident care plans.
/ _, m6 z5 Q5 `Qualifications
Must have a community college recreation certificate or diploma or equivalent, as approved by the Activation Manager. Experience working with seniors, particularly in a long term care setting.
Must be able to communicate in written and verbal form and maintain an acceptable standard of behaviour and appearance.
Computer skills an asset.
  W3 t1 u# R) d  PAn energetic, compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly and who possess excellent problem solving, planning and creative abilities.
; _9 ]5 a7 S$ \6 O2 zProficiency in a second language is an asset.
