Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

Responsibilities:
  E9 s. s( x! b" n) _4 l-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
5 p4 f2 {2 _2 o7 T-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

" \, u) ~( R& f3 K! b( n+ j4 r-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
) I6 J0 \7 v5 T8 l% q3 u2 U) a! m-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
8 W/ y( E! @9 T7 |; t5 P-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
$ k: S, J1 \! j& f( T, Q& K-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
; C8 ^; }; n4 a# l+ f1 k# m-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
0 |8 ^# q2 `0 j; c9 Y-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
; ]1 k7 g2 M7 W/ \( K-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)

-        $14.00 per hour
