Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
6 ]# Q) s& m+ i6 P, M" l-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
: q& Z& t/ w, ]-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
) w# X2 ^9 F+ a* X  w-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
( }5 |7 {: l5 w7 C& h9 `* q- |-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

0 R. z  |8 H* U% ^Qualifications:
/ l8 B! b: r7 a; Q  K4 L; F4 J-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
4 ]- Z; Z7 d7 R-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
$ A5 B) p5 l+ [1 O-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
/ V( G$ q- B7 X' \9 \% [-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
" N' r( P) e! [; k3 S; P- j-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
. O) c1 K0 N" r. j7 I- O  D+ K-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
-        Employment term is May 25 to August 31, 2010

Salary
-        $14.00 per hour
