Summer Job Opportunity for
Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

Responsibilities:
7 Q( V" a  M& A-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
+ A: `* E& n0 v$ d1 D+ |4 s) T# B-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
9 c9 P5 w) q: A" f7 I2 e2 n3 E-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
& k% x. T  \5 v/ r: K. ?5 ]4 x4 u-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

. M% M  |% D& J% U; A0 ~2 P; Y, p3 f- L-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
' U$ D5 I. _' e6 F  w; d-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
$ f0 b! F$ m+ y9 Q) B2 b-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
, m/ M8 U* `9 v" J) s5 j; Q7 T-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
" a" b- k$ a$ \3 _* g9 T9 z4 h) L-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
5 @' j: w( L6 g# \8 L) T- f-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
: B* q4 r; E3 t; i% R-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
-        Employment term is May 25 to August 31, 2010

-        $14.00 per hour
