Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

Responsibilities:
6 p6 [" G7 t- H) J0 d-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
; O4 _) \# d: ~4 s3 l  W-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
7 S/ l: O4 T4 \2 s# m: |7 N" O& L-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

3 i5 j" Y" m% ]3 k2 XQualifications:
-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
4 z; p6 G6 K) }+ V-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
: }3 }& W% D3 {- b* c& J-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
3 ?$ N8 m+ o2 B5 ]: c4 v% r-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

$ @# n/ y, y9 b0 C( [* D6 y( J; w-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
-        Employment term is May 25 to August 31, 2010

-        $14.00 per hour
