Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

Responsibilities:
-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
9 H7 Y) f! q3 x0 D$ K! L- ~6 z-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
, v$ S( q1 y" K! x-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
+ i1 N: ]& l+ c) ]& U-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:
( E6 X# f, A  D, R-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
/ ~% k) w- Q& W# M0 R0 _-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
9 `3 u1 i1 t7 g, Y( c-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
2 H1 c8 h8 m( S0 w3 m-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
! m8 E/ S& o' s; j-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
/ r& X# V6 x* E-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
-        Employment term is May 25 to August 31, 2010

Salary
-        $14.00 per hour
