Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

Responsibilities:
; Q4 d% g* q) M6 E* T( r5 I/ V-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
/ U# }5 R& H9 a/ E( ?) _0 s-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
( V9 D9 w& d0 |-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

6 p" N" \* z: N4 @' G' `/ X-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
) u; r" N% o1 p2 |! c-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
& v# Y0 s- ?! [! w-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
7 f3 X- E; h' L5 S" R2 b-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
8 T4 |* e: _# O! L$ v- U1 D-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
-        Employment term is May 25 to August 31, 2010
