Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

Responsibilities:
/ t  V( f1 x9 N+ B* g+ h* m* R-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
+ b) _8 [2 Z+ N9 i-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
  b: N  d" x" F% t) j-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
* r! z9 S$ V' m) {: m-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

  s9 [7 ?* C  H  E. ]+ KQualifications:
- M7 h8 l" L' M2 Q1 l# E" Z* L-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
) Z0 N/ D! e3 V-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
5 v- l9 C& }! ~-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
; `! A$ S3 s+ V; L7 H- p* t-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
, ?, ]7 F8 G0 d5 D2 k-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
-        Employment term is May 25 to August 31, 2010

Salary
* n" Z$ l* J* d9 O( o1 K. W-        $14.00 per hour
