Children’s Summer Program Assistant, 2010

6 d6 c. S# V" yResponsibilities:
1 I  {; Q9 r8 t2 h1 V& W-        Support the Summer Children’s Program Coordinator in the preparation and implementation of the Summer Camps
1 _8 f; ]1 C/ x, [, T. J-        Assist with facilitating the summer children’s program
: _" w+ N, G& N9 n6 a4 `) x-        Assist with preparing final report for funding agencies
* h7 ?1 }+ j+ f4 ~0 X/ a-        Act according to the guidance or direction of the Summer Program Coordinator
-        Assist with any other program related tasks as assigned by the Senior Program Manager

Qualifications:
-        Post secondary student in Education, Physical Education and Recreation, Early Childhood Development, or equivalent of experience and education
" g  y% A. Z3 r* b; J; M-        Should have some experience planning and delivering recreation programs to children
-        Good coordinating, communicating and interpersonal skills
-        Must enjoy sports and other athletic activities
-        Fluency in English and Chinese or Cantonese
+ n" p( k* C; J-        Demonstrate strong leadership abilities
-        Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
-        Must be a returning student to a post-secondary institute in Fall 2010
-        Successful applicants must undergo security and child welfare check at own expense

Other Information:
-        Hours of work: Monday to Friday from 9:00am to 4:00pm (30 hours/week) in May and June (planning) and 8:30am to 4:30pm (40 hours/week) in July and August(summer camps)
