Position: IT Small Systems Specialist

Position Summary:
5 m+ e! ^! {# j+ P6 A* a; bThe IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.+ ]& ^3 z6 B  d

§ Provide high level of customer service to internal customers* u) ~" e# m' P) I: u8 _7 f
§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution
% ~) _: J  E' @4 X1 {§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
" p6 i9 o9 s) `* e§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
0 M6 B3 D, @1 X" z/ r§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk2 i/ Y/ |" i/ G. G
§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert
. r) F, b& g3 K/ ~§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties
, Z5 X: g) J' b8 z( r/ C0 w§ Special projects as required
: N+ U; y9 @$ q2 d§ May be required to provide after hours pager support for emergency trouble calls( x, F" G2 ?; O: b; k. A" O

Qualifications:
$ D, }' ?5 K% `* S7 B. Z% Z3 r§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience) Y3 m% k1 D2 U
§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision
, M3 v2 G$ H+ z0 g6 }; O  ^& C, X7 g* D§ Fundamental commitment to customer service  o) m0 h4 A/ m; l5 ~- p5 {
§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues
: Q" |* y  q2 _- E§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware. `9 n' Z  `; T
§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software  a) }/ f( l  f  ^2 U
§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

§ Manage a stable local IT environment 9 G+ \% y5 w! k& b- s' S4 U, M
§ Manage and coach staff in IT group" p" K  A* b0 p. L( g
§ Oversee and provide small systems technical support
' g# V# J- C' [§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives
2 b7 D9 x  p& x! w2 q0 ^§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports- U. e) l0 \/ S6 ^
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
; v) ~/ b# k% D9 Q$ F5 Z§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to
0 x* O2 E5 P7 o§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times
# D' a# x$ b# n7 C% ]/ e$ K§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access! ]3 D- n8 T: G- n4 z
§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures5 Y2 I: |+ Y, W: I- t3 \! `
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan
, g9 S8 c! x# T§ Liaise with Corporate IT Helpdesk
- c, i( N7 N7 v§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert
! a# {+ g5 a+ q2 h" T§ Provide technical and procedural recommendations to management
1 |1 p3 h; e* C6 m/ f  v§ Manage user ID request and approval process in conjunction with Director of Finance- y( }* @/ a6 k( D
§ Implementation and support of small systems technology initiatives in conjunction with SYSCO Canada IT7 T( o$ z; R+ _% F% p
§ Coordinate and support end user training, x& V: Z( ~3 u4 Q+ Z
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with IT related suppliers and service providers' o4 |) m4 A# `% k( Q# f* T- P+ `
§ Collaboration on development of internal intranet and external website maintenance
" u/ @4 h& q, \7 \' ~% Q7 I7 J§ Manage all printers in the building

在国内应征的话还敢。在这里既没加拿大经验,英语也不好,想都不去想这些位置啊。
