* b5 d8 m% C! J* ^, _$ wThe IT Small Systems Specialist will be responsible for providing day to day technical support for SYSCO Edmonton. Responsibilities will include equipment management and support, basic network support and troubleshooting.

§ Provide small systems technical support; troubleshoot problems and either resolve them independently or coordinate third party involvement in resolution " Z- a7 C3 f% Y. y# H. n/ I
§ Hardware and software installation, configuration and implementation
: H* D, f/ H2 A§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times

5 o D" V# F7 o W9 |9 x§ Become familiar with in-house software applications (AS/400, EXE/warehouse management system, SOS, VRFS, Impromptu, Lotus Notes & others) with goal of becoming in-house expert# O1 f; p5 n9 T
§ Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external parties

Qualifications:
/ B) w' v$ ^& ]" k0 a: d§ University or College degree in Computer Science and at least 2 years of related work experience" g2 X% U4 `; i' S& _
§ Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others and work under minimal supervision
9 a1 C& O" `* s, L3 q: t§ Fundamental commitment to customer service& K2 B( D& u6 f& w- F5 k, E
§ Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting skills and the ability to work on multiple issues
N: D" ]/ V( U2 @" y# E) G§ Proven knowledge of Dell, IBM, Xerox and Lexmark hardware% f; S- ]+ X5 U |. K4 m* X
§ Experience installing, supporting and troubleshooting client desktop software
( o* I2 R" h0 f* U: \% S& X§ Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, install and support computer users with Windows 98/NT/2000/XP in a domain environment, Ethernet, TCP/IP, routers, switches, concentrators, Network Management tools (e.g. virus protection, server monitoring) and with Xerox and /or Lexmark printer problems

Position Summary:
- u" p$ j3 B+ c, b) G Z$ [% g7 {The IT Manager will provide hands on management of all aspects of the local IT operations for SYSCO Edmonton - managing the information systems on a cost effective basis while ensuring user demands are met. This person will work closely with the SYSCO Canada Corporate IT group (located in Calgary and Toronto).

Responsibilities:

§ Manage and coach staff in IT group, [" \% Z& t( L7 e
§ Oversee and provide small systems technical support/ j& {6 ~3 e6 _5 N
§ Reporting to the Director of Finance and management on a monthly basis on status of IT projects and initiatives
* J; L" u( K/ a6 h! n7 ~# M R x§ Work with auditors (internal and external) – respond to requests, prepare response to audit reports- ]% e+ n5 h7 f) y# q
§ Hardware and software configuration and implementation
- S4 N" l+ g! ~ J b: {9 y* |" _§ Manage and track all technology assets including ensuring that all software licenses are documented and adhered to; X* ^ b) `/ f+ k
§ Ensure software and hardware standards and other policies are adhered to at all times; ~2 L) j0 S5 t r, r; e
§ Perform network administration at the domain level; managing user accounts and network access
( }9 b2 W5 U4 V2 G2 f! @§ Develop and maintain backup and restoration procedures5 ?' P A3 E* M( C7 y, y
§ Develop and track IT budget as well as IT capital spending plan

§ Manage user ID request and approval process in conjunction with Director of Finance

§ Coordinate and support end user training
