this multi-service agency. With over 200 staff and an operating budget of $8 million, YWCA

& L6 O+ A. g# s8 ]' Eexecution of the YWCA Strategy

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of " F3 W& \. b! ?& ~
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by ' r0 V9 U& V( q/ s5 q& {
the Board of Directors;
* K5 @# A6 O2 m6 Y8 f• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 8 D2 j* {% O) F% s
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to
+ [# s9 j! _$ Y) ~# \enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
( o1 k, N+ p. N3 K9 |• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and
% i9 R8 M' X$ iobjectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by
' A5 O& W/ |( q- }" ^( ]2 xthe board;
7 Q' r9 e. m) K; V$ k" c1 U$ ~• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; - N9 j( e4 j5 F o5 Z/ _
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
& x" n8 f5 e0 T) G9 ]the development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings; . f# d0 T$ M, V# v8 R9 L
• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the 0 B$ e6 Q4 H9 @2 a. S) B
changing needs of the organization and community;
1 e( }* m3 ], S+ V6 q8 K$ A y( c• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue 1 K. Z" [( m5 j- c% V* [

• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; & W6 o( @6 E% I1 ~( S. p
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective 3 @( }0 J% X$ h& v( B
selection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems; ( \& J# o+ ?6 o, @
• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed; " H' l+ s4 R9 Y, i3 ?1 R
• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
+ `& V1 k- v) G" A7 R9 deffectively and positively represent the association; / G& D" ?1 s6 b( v. k1 U
4 R0 {, |- t7 h% R4 D• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring / M! ?/ e( |, j0 x5 b0 Q F8 @
the implementation of systems to manage these risks; + c, A# ? t/ I' s
• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal ) A' Y' W% p. u
performance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 8 O8 D" n, _6 T0 O) s
the forthcoming year; 7 F. A; d5 F, z: m
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
1 m% i3 [2 u* Z+ fpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of
: \" i! }, t4 [# mYWCA Canada; and
. y* [% q3 u/ ^, p• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task
# e5 W' l6 M6 u. L7 tForces.

Required Skills & Abilities

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience. 1 K$ L" A9 C. L% F$ _8 q" {8 U

( b& R( ?# |) ~) D3 F8 C" a+ g• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
0 c% _! h2 v9 w: u* V# g% S• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation ( C! @: e' u4 _9 I6 @9 n u3 j
abilities;

• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
