The successful Executive Director (ED) will combine a woman centered perspective, strategic

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include: ' T$ s! {' h0 R3 C& U v4 B- ?5 ~- y" Z

• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of
& ^# \# h, o6 S sthe YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by
$ E4 p5 q u/ Kthe Board of Directors;
9 v" ^, P' A. y7 Y• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations
" Y% z" y p6 U, S- sincluding financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to 6 }; T* Z/ Y6 F l M; l2 m
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities;
4 e r) W1 W8 D/ k, W9 X* I/ \• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 q$ ^6 S6 }7 q$ L+ I" ^
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by

& U! W8 B: I- E3 n• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget;
' m9 \6 T w0 z/ |• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
# k# J% d* N O: fthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
4 j! T: W+ L. t• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the
& l$ O+ c- S( m% Ichanging needs of the organization and community; 3 X3 { M/ y+ f. l9 n! ^* u0 [' d) x
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ! }; }$ [1 S. k" [0 L7 \( V0 a+ P
commitments;
/ e/ X( w2 ^6 ^" i$ x n8 B: N( N• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders; $ P5 A8 S$ Y( G! |0 @8 l
• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
/ q- o5 i) w- z; F4 oselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
5 h, D+ p& D, J• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
5 b4 d% g; B4 l9 z2 ~2 p8 x) h• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to
% O3 v! d4 K+ |; b: h" Aeffectively and positively represent the association;

• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring / O1 }+ O' L( j! S' v4 B
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
4 @& k1 }& |. F- T9 o' }• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
. P; w2 M; @# m% m5 `+ uperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED + t+ Z& \; i8 n) h9 O9 }+ {
the forthcoming year; 7 N+ g1 }/ b; @
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical 8 H8 L3 [3 E! l- X' v4 `, C1 S
practices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
# g* j$ j. V( [$ K• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation T0 r0 t. k* h6 j. l! M. i1 e
abilities; " b1 e4 ^( y' {$ M) S ]) [# V& X+ i
• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
6 M7 S" R* b! _8 z) S1 v$ ANetworking and Fundraising; * Q k J5 n; u. W
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
