Responsibilities

Reporting to the Board of Directors, the ED is responsible for development, evolution and ' K0 |3 k& ~+ O6 Z+ h* q: N' i m
execution of the YWCA Strategy 0 B& s/ \9 j+ ~ o, R. k. B/ A

; D# S* [2 ]0 X3 \# _& r• Providing leadership, general supervision, management and control of the operations of 3 S% |4 O5 A7 L+ `* ` P' z6 ~
the YWCA on a day-to-day basis in accordance with the plans and policies approved by / T4 E$ M: x% M) ~6 M/ {
the Board of Directors; ; ]: x7 b, O* F/ H& m( T T
• Reporting to the board on a timely basis all relevant information regarding operations 2 _! V Q' L% {1 u |0 H; k" n
including financial, policy and personnel issues and provides information necessary to ) t4 Z3 J2 ~0 i& o \" j
enable the Board to exercise their responsibilities; ) C; n# w! s' I* {! a! D+ N) r
• Contributing to the development and achievement of the 1 -3 year operational plan and 4 S6 m: `4 L9 Z2 ?: Y
objectives ensuring that the plan is consistent with the strategic directions established by * d7 j5 u: S9 Y1 f
the board; 1 q6 B4 B7 p8 p
• Developing and executing the annual operational and capital budget; + h' t- q& q0 G8 t5 y
• Nurturing relationships with key stakeholders and community organizations to champion
% A9 J' d* w; |/ d$ U6 kthe development, implementation and successful execution of YWCA service offerings;
) \0 ~% b) k# ~' F2 A3 T9 h+ s3 V• Reviewing existing policies and programs to recommend new or revise to meet the * r. ^% [7 X. a$ ^& U
changing needs of the organization and community; 0 J" M" |* x0 G3 @; c+ o) K
• Identifying, qualifying and initiating opportunities to meet the current and growth revenue ?5 c/ w( u& o+ j' b: b
commitments;
- m/ B+ o1 a1 X! M" N& q• Overseeing contract negotiation with various stakeholders;
+ [6 r% o! m% {+ Z$ d# I& d: g• Fostering an environment of fair treatment of employees and volunteers through effective
% m: p7 Q3 U7 Cselection, development, motivation, retention and appraisal systems;
$ K( F( U }5 O8 K• Encouraging the development of high-performance team members motivated to succeed;
/ S# Z" M* q9 M0 F# J5 P9 p• Enhancing the public imagine and working relationship within our community to

* I; V8 p' d: A) R• Identifying the YWCA’s principle risks, reviewing those risks with the Board, and ensuring & D. B- o# F, j
the implementation of systems to manage these risks;
+ [8 V$ u& q# z) ~' }# K b• Establishing, in conjunction with the Board Chair and Board, an annual list of personal
3 X) w% c1 r3 S! ]! Iperformance objectives (within the context of the strategic plan) to be achieved by the ED 2 Q& a9 Q0 F! X, g" @
the forthcoming year; ) n3 y2 T- Z' C# f
• Conducting affairs of the YWCA in accordance with the commonly accepted ethical
" G. X) s6 Y3 i; n/ w Cpractices, consistent with the YWCA Vision, Mission and Values and the policies of ' h/ f q1 B+ l( a

• Acting as an Ex-Officio member of the Board, all Board Committees and Board Task ! X, I' Q- b& _9 r$ g( J

• Post secondary degree or equivalent experience.

Required Experience
* z" g8 f. ]& _+ x• Minimum of 10 years experience managing multi-service non-profit organizations;
, P1 s; Y9 u9 t• Strong knowledge of government contracts and demonstrated negotiation " ?6 O; U; j, B P
abilities;
( T7 e$ {. l# N/ K• Exceptional interpersonal skills including knowledge of Public Relations,
& Y2 G6 \ v4 i0 g. fNetworking and Fundraising; 4 k( _% g8 [$ ^/ h. c, s' k
• Strong business acumen and familiarity with risk management, budgeting, forecasting
# c( Y/ G4 A5 {and financial statements; and
3 p; a* S; G6 y• Experience advocating, empowering and championing women and girls from a women & S' Q2 I e* {" h
centered perspective.
