What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind
( K% r5 J! P& N: ^# t  R. care distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas
& Y/ M  c) v# V  F  gtherefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a * _1 R9 U+ A' C. x' ^% \
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
3 W( K1 d4 r  i  |$ a: J0 Xeat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can & A) w4 a8 h4 D1 D3 Y
smartly avoid it?
, {8 ~& g2 r; `! L* H?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
8 M, e$ C) q5 pat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
6 i3 M- l  K7 y' }1 ^to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
: \! ?- t7 y: R7 Z: g* b! dmoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a ' s* K; i+ r# ]5 ?( I1 `2 z
Budget.'

to a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may

be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies 8 i+ W/ ~; v7 p4 A  B
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
! Y' v# D" G2 Aespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
* }% q0 g( v$ o3 brelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. & n9 D, }% `4 b; g  x
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
; Z' B( q: ^' |substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with 3 r0 V' R) T9 `( t$ I
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, 5 l6 j! o0 h& D0 S- f
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to 2 g. m7 h' ^1 V" K1 D  n, e: J+ R1 I
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into : u. v3 }" t! |% t3 S2 K
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will 0 S; l% C7 p/ L
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or / W! y! D: a- f. u9 l4 Y
a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are . _3 D7 P) ~3 g4 a) S  p, p
heartily enjoying the holiday treats.?
6 k+ @' [1 G8 l6 X) |; S3 \1 c?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies
$ {) G; l$ \, ?4 O8 h% ^/ land candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating + i$ [$ |( n! r1 M# T0 a& |/ C" ^
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down   P: O* `7 F' E
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
. K, S5 B7 [9 ^: j" ?candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. 1 O+ |. o9 m5 p/ ^3 ~) b8 i7 D
It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners ; d+ C' x2 a9 @" f/ z2 v7 P1 {

should be carefully watched.

tradition with family, friends and loved ones.
