What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind 9 Z# b$ k+ N& _$ Q) d
are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas 1 g- H! Y, d2 h0 H+ @0 e
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a ' x1 P2 R: b, k$ j
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
3 p8 O& P; z8 c3 p% q0 o7 P" o2 ueat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can : l/ E7 f  n2 H; Z7 t
smartly avoid it?4 b7 z2 }$ y" I( p" R" E1 j3 J/ h
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out $ T7 E! k0 o2 D0 B- ?3 [2 }
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem : |: d2 w0 t+ A/ R
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
0 ~6 X4 ]. H; imoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a 4 r% ]9 R; e- V3 @
Budget.'

moderation plan is developed because it is almost impossible to avoid exposure

be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies

relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
5 s2 `" F! @& y) I. h?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to 1 r" i" ], @: P) X
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with " Y- B% Q+ o, Q
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, ) {& N3 j3 y: m& V& q; Q' a
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
+ t2 o  A9 z3 t$ ttell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into
9 ~- Z& g  b; K5 Yplay. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will ! a* S' a) {1 z' \& j( i
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or * V& _9 K, }$ L% ~1 ^/ v( y
a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are

7 D& D( p: P0 R% E+ d7 Rand candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating 7 l) B$ R/ t( z' R
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
! u5 n6 E1 B4 h; D. r( ~' f3 Q+ |0 T! @upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
) `; v- w0 X: Xcandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

For an occasion such as a Christmas party or a dinner, including Christmas

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of
* X  a, j! Y+ N0 m) o! z8 jthe selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,

can always say truthfully that the stomach is full.
