are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas 2 a( ~; \: Z4 P; ]. \6 ?
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
6 W  ?. e7 x  C) n- S* H7 H- ~7 rpleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then - C  x4 x0 `) N8 W  w
eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can
& k" R2 i+ g7 J1 u8 T" x- ?smartly avoid it?& z0 Y1 y, ?+ S1 ?0 z- L
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
* a9 |' s, l2 f: ?8 N, }at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
6 P: d  h0 _" V# Cto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
: z$ r+ Q# Q5 H% w$ Qmoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a

risk appearing like the Grinch who stole Christmas if your response will always

are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays

relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. 4 U& H& q6 D& V- s3 W
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
: h( p& P) U* @$ z  \) L$ f. l- @substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
, K) |4 \9 R" R5 T3 h" ebreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, * c6 r) P, W( C& ?$ g
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to 2 {. ~  N- Q0 w$ }* w0 \! @
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into % n1 O" q1 R* {5 k2 j" E4 m$ D% q1 D

healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
& r- e" L2 h# O: X+ z* M; Wupon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
: k" b2 t4 n4 a' N' N: F' n! [candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected
