What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind ( j  c4 n- W- X3 W  ]7 b
are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas
& e; c" P2 l1 p2 [0 d- ]therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
8 h) c! y' d( @2 V2 z2 upleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
: H' d1 x3 \8 k& c) J% x5 o6 c6 Keat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can ! W/ {6 N  P0 D: d
smartly avoid it?3 U" z8 f7 _6 \' A5 Z
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out 8 r1 U% R7 T. [2 S
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem 5 h$ M6 I& r9 r: r
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of 6 C2 {  x' V; t* F
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a - Q) s  s" H2 F" D" E; q* g
Budget.'$ o5 w& ]0 U& s' ~$ h' _! w

be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies # h3 ]1 A3 E) b! X  U$ A
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays % p; [6 G" _0 g8 y* U2 s
especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more ! M; I$ R6 c. c6 M( t
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. 2 q/ l9 ]9 ?) _
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
2 q! t4 t5 j. ]7 Z+ O  u4 qsubstitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
- t+ T5 ]$ L2 o( Wbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
. [. j* a# z7 d' Sfrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
9 }; R9 W5 U6 A- A* Dtell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into
' e& d8 k; r, d, r; \" G8 {1 Vplay. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will
4 r/ a, ^0 E3 ?8 Jbe watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or

?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies 0 Z8 X7 a+ x% y5 p
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating   }2 F! ?" D8 f5 i9 W  q
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
+ F. r  X, u/ v. u& h# R+ A: Tupon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
) i+ |$ S0 @9 S/ U: L5 L/ l  m3 Ecandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.
( k! c. m- B; X5 rIt's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners   }* K7 h3 w5 K0 h1 q4 X: n

on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected

then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is 6 u  I' x0 k" ?" f+ t0 K
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served
9 X% S3 s# ?: B5 o. A' yduring Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one , f, t& G3 ?5 u2 O. i" k
can always say truthfully that the stomach is full.
