What Makes Christmas Magical

eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can

- _5 L8 b) W* g$ V  h6 C( j?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
, Y' a# t( i  @+ `at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem $ c! w- {' U( }4 z& F, ~* d  k, @
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of 3 Q+ B) c: g+ C
moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
' S+ Z5 v+ y. u, U$ m- n8 mBudget.'; }; P2 R+ r( v+ y# H

be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies
- H0 ^: Z7 v/ s+ Jare offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
8 y+ k; H4 p9 P, I: ]: f! ?especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more 7 Q+ V- t* i. p- l& c3 L& D
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
+ o5 B3 k3 `- G$ q) f$ e/ R?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to 4 Q9 p& v) U+ R" F' ]
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
. T- d2 F* y, D$ u5 v7 ]6 s6 ^8 g$ rbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
8 G% E' n9 M& o& ofrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to 5 E$ d7 R4 o* \
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into 2 _$ t% ]& ?0 m+ u8 W
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will
& e0 g. N& w2 s+ O/ u7 K: pbe watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or

and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
8 u' d$ e1 F8 X4 A; g, @# Y* |healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down . l9 X, v5 h' T5 w7 R$ F
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate $ ?3 ~: j' o* z* x9 A
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies. $ }2 p4 D! M: @: _0 v. A0 S/ X) d
It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners & \; v' O% s* }4 u

Dinner, where larger quantities and selection of food is available, the 'Eating
; I2 V1 n: G/ y$ W$ c6 Xon a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected , w) w# z& `8 ~- Q
should be carefully watched.
  ]  y' ]9 u; O; w* f9 C! `2 zAt a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of

then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is
