What Makes Christmas Magical

therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
) ^( N1 F$ l! I, npleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then , i; v: o& m4 [
eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can
. D7 c6 E. v. c/ y. Dsmartly avoid it?
6 m$ I- V. g# ~?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
1 S/ P: x; u( x2 gat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem & L- f, s+ D9 O1 y& g
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
( p- }7 l9 l* I9 l. Fmoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a 6 g' w  a3 F" J# c! {- h
Budget.'5 u4 @* p- K/ ?" P" r/ S* }

?'Eating on a Budget' is not about the cost of what is eaten, but about the

to a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may
6 M9 o' u: G" F& Q! X" }& n( g2 ?! xrisk appearing like the Grinch who stole Christmas if your response will always
. x- W2 v. ~: N2 b9 G( U/ C! c( U. nbe something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies # ~4 |& B& u% f" f  p9 B( |
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
, n2 F2 t4 J( Q6 ~" T3 Despecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more ( p/ w: m; d; ~2 t% r# B4 L
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. $ Y9 C1 f4 g9 c
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to
+ Q3 \3 `% a/ G& |4 f1 {substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with , U( x8 }6 I; `0 v3 U
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
3 o* [; z0 b. A  x$ Q- p; V0 lfrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
& w: x/ z, _% Ztell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into / W. {, J) e  u3 }0 l
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will
4 \  v* p: @- R; qbe watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or
( u! `+ t% F/ Y" ]a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are
0 U  c3 z% m' j  d/ m. t) uheartily enjoying the holiday treats.?
. B( @- r9 t/ Q& j9 j?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies ! J8 P$ t' H: |, W
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating 0 {, S& C/ E3 {/ q, B  F
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down ' `( K* ^/ e6 F: G# _% \9 O6 W
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
- v% [9 y' H6 j& t& u  Fcandies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

For an occasion such as a Christmas party or a dinner, including Christmas ( O& `/ R' `6 i
Dinner, where larger quantities and selection of food is available, the 'Eating
8 ~1 s. m& V4 {& u. mon a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected
. e  v: d: J: k; ]  M: C; X7 ]1 s% o  K- [should be carefully watched.
7 \7 ?0 k( a. s' \* @  HAt a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of
* f: v, r' A: ?: {- k& _1 othe selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, 6 {! L7 O/ y2 z" j* i
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is
1 ~& M0 X' @2 @# h/ s) J! D1 {somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served   N- l9 M) W# [- t
during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one ' u. V$ t8 U1 M9 W$ e, S' @3 F0 x
can always say truthfully that the stomach is full. # m9 X  n( _* ?( ~! _( E* G

from food and your soul full of joy from sharing another memorable holiday
