What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind 4 k4 f1 }) W! o+ ]* m" V) [
are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas . I# y3 z* ?  E- o" x  x+ F/ V
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a
+ K+ N3 b+ M( q5 }, q* _4 npleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
" `, {& Y" M% j8 n; @% @1 |eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can
5 ?5 n8 e" s! }9 G) ^' Y8 [3 Asmartly avoid it?
! I; A/ x  d2 ^3 Z: K% G3 ?  E0 g" n?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out
: Z( b1 W# I7 b" gat a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem % K3 ]5 x1 [8 @' X. l
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
$ I. L. H, p1 m$ f9 n1 M3 Umoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a   B5 M! ~2 A. n. r+ l  l

to a lot of cookies, candies and other sweets at Christmas. At work, you may

0 D' y: b- d+ o& o/ c4 A7 kbe something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies + o$ l/ E- c, F6 J3 |" \5 \. T7 `3 l
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays $ ^+ O8 Y  [3 a- i( e- G6 u2 i9 d3 g
especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
. |( w9 F9 z$ `; q" E7 urelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
/ O* i3 i9 ], {% a! h- w?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to 4 Y, R3 h& y1 C; h
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
6 p; g. O& U* ]6 c8 Q( Qbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, ( w  A8 e; n1 s# B1 {" d. p- ^% e
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to % s+ h$ H6 Y$ H- s: {
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into
( Y; u9 W* M$ p1 Q+ `6 Xplay. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will ; s% @! L& D' j4 C3 O& c* L
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or

and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating
; v7 Z1 j1 A% ~" o1 c2 L8 ihealthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down 9 W$ |, Q# L) T* Y8 \# F
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate " \: |& U' y# j$ ~5 P
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.
% F8 A) d1 x) a; [It's interesting to note that in a poll sponsored by the National Confectioners

Dinner, where larger quantities and selection of food is available, the 'Eating ' o+ E+ K- S8 @: `  c' f
on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of
) l  d; T% X! kthe selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, ( C7 |3 H4 k7 M* k: j9 O
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is * x$ \: K# G" }# q' w& g1 q
somewhat true for Christmas Dinners. One big difference is that the food served
/ g/ j( W% K4 Q% T7 }during Christmas Dinner will be heavier, so by selecting portions wisely,air max tn, one
