What Makes Christmas Magical

therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a + |4 G. x! }2 f5 k8 X9 W
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
$ g; q8 M; G$ k& t( k: `  W' Heat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can

?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out , }- u& P+ I% ~3 Z& W  j
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem
6 g: ^) @; C* N( J5 q0 Dto be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
$ E& [2 C( `# J& |3 _moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a
) _6 D* ^, Z$ u: @% oBudget.'

be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies
5 N* Q: Q8 o! z# ?are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
3 s+ P: O: W# M- p' pespecially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
# x/ u% M% H1 ?& }( p6 \' L4 orelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower.
6 X9 q! M, @; F' F- o?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to + j4 y1 u3 l6 E0 D% B2 d
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with * X7 T6 ~! ?* D# Y
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, 7 t) w0 u7 k, ]
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
2 R$ R8 N( b& s0 y- x4 ^8 E- ktell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into
5 F9 v( t7 V6 f. F9 X, d" {play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will

a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are

?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies
3 ^; {6 n- I' ?( G! G% aand candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating , @0 ?! I# c( a2 I- ]+ L
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down 5 t( o* L' C% N: Z& g
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate 1 K0 i4 t. R; w3 c+ Y
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

For an occasion such as a Christmas party or a dinner, including Christmas

on a Budget' plan means that serving portions and the choice of food selected 9 y/ H6 O5 a1 C0 @) ]# ^7 z
should be carefully watched. ! M$ F" N- y( r# A& J9 m" ]
At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of
2 k: q" u9 `% s/ W0 Sthe selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,
