What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind " q. m8 n  F6 K7 Q/ v1 m( i
are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas 4 L1 j1 G6 v6 q, G2 E( L
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a ) _. f- o+ m% }, i# h
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then
9 Z3 F. l3 x. P1 ueat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can : h% j% h0 ~, v
smartly avoid it?! W( p. \3 E/ M/ d, F% }: H
?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out 6 {5 H) k0 V* Z5 h8 I% d( t
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem . j" O% w8 }2 E2 c: d8 s
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
' B$ V' }( y# I( ~' V' A  cmoderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a 3 V& {# i6 V6 a! k2 D
Budget.'! x8 X1 j- K0 a* N0 l2 W

risk appearing like the Grinch who stole Christmas if your response will always $ q+ V7 z) `) `# f. U2 D8 o1 x/ Q
be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies ; E& L6 v; R6 K9 p1 D! }
are offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays : A* @0 Q' n5 s
especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more
# T$ X- x3 H+ y$ wrelaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. 1 D6 T8 `4 o; j; r& |
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to 3 ~  @4 U2 \, Y; |0 ]) M
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with 6 P) S. ~3 Y( E, P: G) T
breakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie, 6 |) Z) U0 |0 T2 j$ N, V
from the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to
1 N0 q7 x9 I: s# q- v$ L2 z% X" jtell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into $ n4 H! d* R( j; o! o
play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will 2 l7 @5 a- [' \& w4 }* z
be watching how you really eat. You can always have a few candies, one cookie or

healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down 5 @% R9 g2 X* R4 u/ Z5 h) c2 R; f6 Y
upon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate 4 e& `" p- {! ?& q: w. ^+ ^/ ]% o
candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

should be carefully watched.

the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted,
