What Makes Christmas Magical

During the Christmas season, summer and its body-conscious state of mind 4 G* U' m2 m8 F2 m
are distant memories. Hearty indulgence in the many foods shared at Christmas 4 @8 i9 I' p8 I( O0 k. [
therefore doesn't produce the same feelings of guilt. Nevertheless, its not a " U% U1 n  i, V0 o- O7 ?8 a# q% w' A" r, _
pleasant thought to start the New Year carrying any extra pounds. So why then - `& T. i* q6 [6 h, B* K
eat yourself into a resolution to 'take off a few extra pounds' if you can 7 n8 q, ?. G" C. Y( @+ L
smartly avoid it?
8 I! O* @5 W# _) k; S( ~?Whether it's sharing cookies and candies at work, or having an evening out ! @  J  R7 p0 z
at a party or dinner, you can have Christmas food and enjoy it. While you seem + j0 @- g. _6 s' g
to be eating heartily with a smile, the key is to have a secret strategy of
7 E  |# o2 B. R+ J& V& j2 }moderation. It involves sticking to a plan that can be called 'Eating on a % a. |# K' {# T# f) |

+ r8 i4 {6 z' o# `be something like, 'Uh..no..bah humbug' all the time that some Christmas goodies
9 \8 ^7 F: E  L0 I! p7 R: Mare offered. It will seem as if you aren't in the spirit of the holidays
3 J% H2 ?3 d. s% e6 P( |especially since at that time of year everyone is usually in a festive and more # Z) ~! x4 c7 |# a
relaxed mood, and the pace at work is usually slower. + y4 t# H: F$ L' Q* q- z/ B" I+ N
?A practical way to partake in Christmas goodies, for example, is to 5 C; h1 E9 W7 d
substitute some holiday cookies for say the bagel that you usually have with
" R, ^! c* s% r+ `* dbreakfast or for a mid-morning snack. And instead of just taking one cookie,
  Q! m3 T+ f9 L0 o  }. k+ h: qfrom the platter, which is noticeable and likely will encourage a colleague to ! [0 J# Z& [; W* }7 j/ y. l0 R; D  H/ B
tell you to have more, take three instead. That's where the plan can come into
$ A& r, i$ [" f% Y9 m- G2 ?play. You can then enjoy the cookies over two or more hours,ed hardy hoodies, because nobody will

a cookie and a half by your desk and that way it will seem as if you are

?Another strategy is to bring - bake or buy - low calorie Christmas cookies 5 R- ]6 b' J# K
and candies to work to counteract others that are being offered. Since eating 0 D# U9 I; H+ }1 H. z( F7 z$ c" E
healthy is highly encouraged, health-conscious cookies will not be looked down
' p& S2 U7 U) j7 D' ?8 qupon so long as they taste great. A box of sugar-free Christmas chocolate
+ L$ F# i( @" _- L0 y; a5 c/ ?candies for example will look just as delightful as regular chocolate candies.

At a party where more desserts and sweets are likely to be available, a few of & A2 t5 y3 }+ Y- x+ G/ y
the selections can be sampled. If the urge to try everything can't be resisted, 7 a( |  k. S& d' O7 q- r* G5 |4 `
then do so, but then second helpings have to be severely limited. The same is : l; J3 p6 T) Q8 ]4 ]
