I added landscaping faric on the top soil after tightening the top soil and then put some rocks on it. 5 H7 ~0 @3 Z+ Y) l- X# e- XI am not sure this is a right way to solve the problem or not. Can any experts help us out of this? Thanks

As long as the top soil or clay underneath run the water away from the house, you are fine; fabric and rocks above are for control of weeds and decoration only.
