provide supplemental support to newcomers who have complex needs.

The position builds working relationships with New Canadian Health Network partners’ staff, 7 T( |3 a Y6 f
newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social 1 h2 w, ]( I7 A! S% x; o
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
% k5 @5 K' `+ O/ y" J% @, Bneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for
: Z9 J% S- B# c+ }6 W( fnewcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
, K+ h7 d& y R- }6 Q0 Xassessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-

Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and 8 I: y6 F' |( O
experience in Social Work or related human service fields. . l5 G! }4 P6 |) V% p4 U/ K) \
Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family 3 S% t# S6 _: O2 R! C
support needs
2 w8 n4 o' c) h4 C Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications
# Y Y j- V, r Proficiency in both official languages is an asset, as is fluency in other languages 8 i9 k; |4 m0 H* R) Z) Q
Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working in a related field - l, o; s, V$ w" I* A( d) d7 l
