newcomers accessing these services and other institutions and service providers. The Social ! ^ i9 \5 t+ l
Worker will assist in case planning, conferencing and providing support and advocacy as
r3 y5 G* c+ J* l2 l4 W+ K, Yneeded. As required, the Social Worker will assist in accessing community supports for + W2 L6 f9 T! f! W9 \ B* A
newcomers and their families. The Social Worker provides holistic and flexible initial
. J) s6 L8 f2 E% d C% J) @assessment of life circumstances, needs, goals and aspirations and adheres to the client-9 R9 m: d' v2 A1 ^! ]

Developing of social networks and community supports for newcomer families. ( {' i2 L' ]- A3 k3 K+ C
Provide intake, needs assessment, referral, case plans and action plans to support ) m' V" H8 w- p2 [ c0 e3 R2 f. F
newcomers in settling and fully participating in community. - I+ @% @6 d x4 V
Work in partnership with settlement workers or cultural brokers to provide supplemental # s* ]/ P* m8 w, H) c; q4 N
case plan support for clients who have complex needs.
3 N1 g9 v) X! k9 z Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers.

; G. i% f, O) Z, ~' | Relevant undergraduate degree or diploma, or equivalent combination of education and
5 m1 M: X' e3 t! o2 Vexperience in Social Work or related human service fields. 2 e, L) A0 F9 ^; g! `9 a
Extensive knowledge of community resources, including in depth understanding of family
+ I/ Q4 f, B, {9 U5 msupport needs
* J6 G5 O9 d+ C3 A Experience/facility with MS Office computer applications

Possess a valid class 5 driver’s license and own a reliable vehicle with appropriate

Experience: Minimum of 3 years experience working in a related field . W1 m/ c. g7 ~7 j
