As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

, `% k3 C( G8 c1 XDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

) D5 X7 j& t& {; @• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
+ `% k0 p. i8 A$ i+ E9 u$ M# U6 X• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
# X. d; c3 L0 m! c3 Z4 f) B• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
+ b3 q9 O& v& c/ P: d• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
' r( J6 M  d/ S• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
: w* \  e9 d% `4 d• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
$ L0 i$ M1 ]/ H' a1 ^• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
# |" B' B* k5 h5 G& M6 T( q• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
; f* o7 r4 z1 o• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
* ]' m& I0 N1 |& W. X• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
" y, z9 Z/ u7 r* `9 {• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
6 C6 f9 }2 Q5 B( x  R5 A" w# t• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
