FUNCTION:
$ M! \7 O% h. A8 }2 zAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

4 M! x! S. {9 g3 wDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
! i7 d5 k( r; ^; P' s• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
4 k! N) @4 e& i) ^: c9 w" w• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
+ O* c+ d9 g$ ?* B1 u$ a• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
9 A. w! [% f4 J. Y• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

! m* Z4 k, H) |& }# H7 I5 ?4 ESKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
2 {7 b0 Y7 `5 E. T( @2 y; T2 Y• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
6 Q) Y7 a  |0 |) g• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
$ a/ H8 L% |  H/ l# H. T* m- E• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
$ K) p7 W4 s) x• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
  e0 ?, d) I  u  J: I• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
8 A) ?8 Z4 C/ ]% W: w2 }" k! U+ O/ U• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
