As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

' n+ f3 [6 I. O: L7 O0 _DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
4 D  Y. H+ C+ k; i. Y• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.

• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
. `! Y0 t) O$ H7 z% u• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
% N4 o7 o8 l6 b0 }& b" N• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
/ I% J# q  Z- I6 [9 Z; \2 L• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
, t  |  \* Z) I2 Q/ a• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments

, J5 ^+ K$ f& e! z/ U0 e• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

7 K$ b( f* {! p2 n7 j1 ~SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
/ `, O7 ?/ K# l5 q$ |• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
. I* J+ e8 n# ]* q! U0 X5 p  z• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
2 \8 X; N7 n7 z/ {: w• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
  j/ ]' B$ {, C1 K! y9 b# K• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
  W, S, P5 k# E, H( d• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
3 d1 S0 I2 w8 F4 q" A5 Q2 ^• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
5 ?3 h8 _/ \2 |• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
