% X% C2 C+ @: T8 `" s& rAs a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

" F* ^+ w& ]8 N+ _0 B# J3 \DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enterprise Data
• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
8 T0 h6 {2 B$ \- j) }$ M+ d3 i• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
2 A) o& \2 [8 l" p• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
: T! C' |7 K4 b8 L3 N• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
) w6 n8 [3 t4 R7 i, S4 F8 W" W* x• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
: u$ p- F3 {7 Z; p% z1 i  T• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
  P6 \' m, R% J1 ^3 C! l4 Y, W• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.

' p+ b& K  N4 J6 N1 w+ BSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
1 U) K) b3 g; i  O• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
+ L' ?; Z/ ]8 k: v! }7 ~$ K" ^+ y• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
% v* U. @& [6 ?0 A4 Z# q' Y4 X• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
$ h( [, R1 L% m! A2 a0 p; u• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
  F! k5 `4 X! _6 |. Q& j• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
1 A2 I( n5 y9 \% P" x$ Q0 F• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
0 [; U$ ]9 g2 M8 E2 o' D• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
+ ~9 A# d* r0 ^2 ?• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
