FUNCTION:
) s8 |4 w8 K: H5 @As a member of the Business and Data Architecture team, the Data Architect/Business Intelligence Architect is responsible for the overall design and architecture of the company’s enterprise data, business intelligence systems, reporting solutions and ETL processes.

" m7 |5 Q9 U8 P( s% e• Develop and maintain data models, data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data element naming standards and metadata standards.
• Provide guidance and consultation to individuals and groups to ensure on-going projects are in alignment with the corporate data architecture.
• Designing stable and high performance application solutions with complex requirements and demanding specifications.
Bi /Reporting/ETL
1 X0 Q+ O. S* K; H• Participates in defining the BI roadmap for Alberta Blue Cross.
• Participates in designing and developing the architecture for all business intelligence solutions.  
• Contributes to the design of business intelligence application solutions including database design, ETL, report design and analytics integration.
• Leads BI analysis and design activities.
0 j! _* p! g- a3 u• Defines processes to move BI services into development, test, and production environments
• Establishes the BI Meta data strategy.
7 a- ?/ ?) m/ e+ y7 W* @• Documentation and presentation of business requirements for a variety of audiences including clients, executives, project managers, end users and technical designers and developers.
, i% G% R5 q+ O# K6 r• Defines the BI standards and guidelines.

- x4 n9 z' j3 E. d' s: Q# XSKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
• A Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science or related technical discipline.
• 10+ years experience in data management and designing/developing and implementing Business Intelligence solutions.
+ D, C2 w* K4 _2 B• Expert level understanding of relational database concepts, dimensional database concepts and database architecture and design.
• Knowledge and experience in development of operational data stores, data mart and data warehouse architectures.
) Q( |; M; \1 \# s4 _2 o• Experience in designing data models to support OLTP and BI solutions with (ODS’s, data marts, and data warehouses).
* t8 G" D3 S) a• Knowledge and experience with industry standard ETL and standard reporting tools.
• Exceptional consultation skills are critical, with the ability to convey technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences and contribute within a team environment.
; v  Z0 o  v4 R: f8 M• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
• Exceptional planning, organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
• Extensive or considerable experience with Oracle products such as Oracle RDBMS 11G and lower, Designer, Oracle Warehouse Builder, BI publisher, Oracle Reports.
$ r9 J2 v  @4 C$ W• Experience with Oracle Portal and Application Server (J2EE and Oracle 10gAS) is preferred.
