New Program-‘ Tweenie Program’ (Ages 8-12)
Northeast Teen Drop-In Centre


Key Responsibilities & Duties:
* n3 a- k' {4 L( _% n% n6 k
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
7 K* _+ i1 ]  h; t Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
$ D. [( P( t! x' Q/ B) ^ Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
" n; Z- q' i, u& f/ F Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

7 f4 D! `! F1 w3 \' `( O, L Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
% L( ^/ a! l8 H( H% ] Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
. d% @5 J7 [3 ?! [+ N Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
$ z, j5 R& f5 K) j: A Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
# \7 Y9 d5 O, Q' j+ H; w6 h4 Estarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
