Key Responsibilities & Duties:
; C; }( c# b; s/ ]" C' o4 ?5 i1 S8 Q% V0 B8 M) ?" P
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.# o8 `- T2 T0 k  H8 m
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.# m% O( G) H$ w7 W! W" P) n7 ~
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.8 ^+ q1 N5 A5 w* j
 Completing required paperwork.. P( K6 y6 W7 A& _- c
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
, c' J, W' X* k/ h Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.& u1 w2 Q$ E- g
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information. 7 M3 U$ C7 ?2 x" p9 {4 K/ t
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.- y$ ^3 ^2 M! W5 x5 Z! ]. Z
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
7 X0 D( A" Z7 |; ~5 \+ x/ x* `* e Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.$ o6 C3 @4 W: M$ ^: L
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.# [, q- m7 c: U$ N2 y% t

Qualifications:: o0 U; T6 `- b
- `9 P. K- ?7 `% q1 `. l
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
5 b2 {' ?; N; w0 ?5 e, p Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.1 p* T1 r6 A7 f3 ~
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
- {/ N5 b6 q1 b4 ] Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
1 \0 i! U- r3 A7 C- k Knowledge of community resources.
1 x- M% g9 k6 @$ e7 a; t Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.$ F) ]. Q+ P: U4 F# W7 z# b
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

' z9 I; d8 q, H9 F5 zPosition:1 h* a, h+ k' a0 z) D& Q
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
9 E: ^" I5 w4 V8 Q5 qstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
