Key Responsibilities & Duties:
! P% L( q/ Y3 R6 P
 Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
4 K& O& t) z$ j" v) D Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
: ]4 i& b4 K9 q3 u. L Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
6 {5 G) L3 m# Q) b' x Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

' F2 a% v" L. W- A Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
* L- {' t8 a$ b6 j Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
5 V- h1 Y1 H2 m8 v4 F Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
! T; U$ G3 a% b  f) O% } Knowledge of community resources.
* P. E4 x  ~+ c2 @, V6 @4 L$ ` Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
: H# L, l8 z, e4 f6 J9 z Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
, L/ ?5 A; s+ D* _% g' z: wstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
