An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

Major Responsibilities:! f$ i' @8 X3 Z6 s" j
• Process research equipment design;% D" Z, N& C) [: R7 n) f
• Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;. o9 |* D/ F! w: l1 [7 B7 T: N5 z
• Equipment fabrication guidance;/ o0 \. a8 h, a5 @! T8 J* b
• Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;2 ]4 @3 G9 L( X7 \( D$ }
• Others.% x- h a" T, k# W" [6 Q) f6 P/ P
( l' S' w5 l/ B& aQualifications:; O! C6 [4 ]5 x7 \, a9 `
• Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months. % @/ |: }2 {7 {: B% D! u: U
• Equipment design experience is required;" n% Z3 X4 S+ m
• Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;5 C+ r1 Y' X. E3 N& A: M
• Familiar with CAD software;9 J" G& c' c1 |" R9 \8 n
• Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;
- ~" H* |; M' \! G" k• Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Compensation:# X; a7 A% t$ G) [. @) a& x- s# Z
Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
