Mechanical Engineer/Specialist –Research Equipment Design

An engineering start-up, which is committed to support the R&D and industrialization of process technologies in North America with expertise and international resources, now accepts applicant for the position of Mechanical Engineer /Specialist through Industry r&D Associates program, Alberta Ingenuity.

• Process research equipment design;
; x& W' ~( Z9 ~0 [* w, Y- N& u1 U• Pilot plant design with other professional engineers;" y4 v0 m; t3 h% f
• Equipment fabrication guidance;
# M* u0 R. q n% D• Mechanical Codes/Standard elucidation;

Qualifications:
# A# k. p! P" J8 e4 D• Mechanical Engineering Graduate of a Master’s or PhD program within five years of application date OR graduate student expecting to complete Master’s or PhD degree requirements within three months. ' S, \+ {+ z( j/ h5 i- |* s
• Equipment design experience is required;1 S B8 l! F3 ?7 B% E& O
• Familiar with mechanical Codes/Standards; knowledge of electrical Codes/Standards is helpful;% e5 y, O# }* S2 Y# }9 i Y
• Familiar with CAD software;$ B3 B- Z+ {0 l7 R5 i+ {4 O! x* o
• Fluent in English, and knowledge of Mandarin is useful;( r* w6 T1 T: \! \$ C5 m" z/ n
• Fabrication, engineering and postdoctoral experience are assets.

Successful applicant of Alberta Ingenuity Industry r&D Associates will be awarded a $55,000 stipend per annum and a yearly allowance of $7,000. The total award value over two years is $124,000 from Alberta Ingenuity with opportunity for permanent position and stock option from the company after two years’ term.
