The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events. S1 B% }/ o" ^9 H; o9 u9 n! z" j
• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.6 q0 g, w. l! B
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge& A3 f j0 r; I" {: t8 o$ S* E
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.' C4 [* F8 v, P P
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.
* z7 c0 |- H% x. |9 [* C• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.+ q" \! ?& I' e8 c4 y
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
. ~. b5 a+ b8 g• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities# U, B7 m% e& p! @' F
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

8 _ O4 h5 e+ u• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
" o l5 i$ d* F* Y• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
8 J3 E1 J6 P" K! R0 j• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate% L. Y+ H: o/ B; U
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
4 Y' `2 ^+ x; o& N• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
3 P# M8 c6 M% o2 |0 Q• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency% P+ y8 n g- j1 e( G
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services0 w6 s/ ?8 D+ n2 R! Z6 _
• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
! L+ U$ Z/ Q% z: b0 J% n• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
+ }7 H, V4 r" O4 D3 q. ]$ M, t" {. f• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers3 a' d) x6 D: W: m) t) w1 M; s9 ]) S
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
; |( V- M7 _0 }4 t0 ~) g• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate ) P8 `4 w: [2 n3 e9 f
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required" q6 s" p& E3 `5 ]6 |/ l% \5 u6 K

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination

• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
, W+ Q# |, x, N• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
; X3 ] Y) L' W- Z, n• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
. @3 s% h, w" }6 i$ o$ y/ {• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects / [, ^7 |( t3 R5 @% `
• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
