The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.

• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
( q0 R+ X+ K% L( v) O• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.
: {1 }) d0 o# w• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge7 O. r; o: p+ y* q# m/ a4 U
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
+ o% P- a0 {: w, g) j• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program., t- Z! R1 Y" U* y& [& f$ L( s6 Y/ v
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
; u- j, ~& V; ~3 |7 \• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.
8 c6 |" j$ i0 ?0 j: b* ^• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities0 h9 e/ ?. K; s/ ?: x/ G& N
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required. o) f2 P% G7 \ S

• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up& o0 g/ N& {) J2 L/ M- T* A: d
& j8 ]* o% O/ Z; u* r, G" c( t
ADMINISTRATION+ E. I! y! U( g2 E
• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position
, C2 J' T/ @- s/ V5 M& y. _3 V• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation
7 _& `' Q y0 Y7 n+ B9 `• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
/ q% M9 w8 X2 [6 I. O% @• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department; f5 k6 Y. R6 C. Z
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
; l0 Q6 T! N/ Z• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency: d# q0 O6 w: F1 y. {
• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services

• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances: e* B+ n9 B( B3 G/ s N
• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

, n6 }2 W5 [- k/ ~- S' b0 _; t9 X) UINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
8 O: P3 `: v \7 A9 |+ I• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers
4 f, u4 u; d2 N, \( m5 I$ e% i• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)( i+ [5 Q8 C- X" y5 U) M
• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
$ H: V# t% i) c• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination, a9 I; { e6 g+ y
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability2 }* S% a* c% L1 h" l' i
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills
2 D: n" m$ K& Y4 Z* y# m• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills
+ t: p4 X& Q( q% D" e• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
8 [# y; X1 s5 A- Q$ a• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
