The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. OPERATIONS
+ v. z( a3 Z- ]4 v* `: x! R• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
' ^4 c; }* l. i# c• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services." b' W/ B7 k3 V7 E
• Maintain the volunteer files and update the database using Raisers Edge, K" k( |- m. B: A, @; Z3 t
• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.
, h/ h& {6 `) D• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program. m6 D9 j% o5 o0 Z$ L0 E
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours.
0 J2 W' X+ w: b5 }$ L• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.3 _, }- n( e( m
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities$ Q2 B. n; b* [
• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required6 L8 u4 K+ Y" q) p# o& P7 t

• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO
3 I' [& w& ]4 E• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

ADMINISTRATION
0 b2 D$ E( p4 I. V, K' ?$ h( O• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position# P- C* G' O* `1 ~8 ^. N
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation4 w6 m& N$ `( L/ B5 q' g
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate
6 U: u- E" f' z1 w• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department
' P- E7 O' b7 V$ c% ?• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
% m* Q& H0 _. M7 u; G7 G• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency
: H$ O6 C5 n+ M, k, }• Develop resource and orientation materials for Volunteer Services
/ U! J. W) \7 y U; V P• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

INTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS
# S/ _0 S* S+ F5 P: v, {• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers' O3 u" }( y- H8 I7 N& [( R9 T
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
9 }# G2 {3 d4 e) z+ }5 ]) D$ e• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate
% v0 g: x B7 P• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

Qualifications:; T2 Z+ Z1 j# c# y. |" d
" l" y% U# l9 z• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination. A6 ^; S8 q% l
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability+ H( y8 u; d0 ^5 [8 P1 M1 a
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills4 O4 S; Y6 R0 Y# |! G
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills 1 r1 v1 Y/ J a% L% i% b
• Ability to work to meet deadlines and to work under pressure
4 {; a$ `/ [9 }6 o• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
# b2 C' k5 W: R: `• Sound judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
; B6 Q' T! x2 H) F• Knowledge of Raisers Edge software would be beneficial
