The YWCA has an opportunity for a Volunteers Services Coordinator. Volunteer Services supports a number of programs and events within the organization. This dynamic position is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Volunteer Coordinator to make a significant contribution to the YWCA.( {$ S, T. q& r0 k' x( R* h

OPERATIONS
* A9 l: ^. X! Y& j# D• Responsible for the development, orientation, coordination, recruitment, screening, training and integration of volunteers into YWCA programs, services and special events.
4 d8 H6 ^; S& ?7 n• Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures for volunteer services.

• Ensure that appropriate training is provided, on an on-going basis while giving volunteers opportunities to expand their knowledge, expertise and skills.2 H; O- C! m/ i. }) S
• Develop and implement a comprehensive volunteer recognition program.6 ?3 \$ N4 S" w `4 A, D; D
• Measure and report on key volunteer metrics including satisfaction, engagement, turnover and volunteer hours. a" u% R6 D5 T/ U' Q1 _) M
• Identify and implement best practices in regards to volunteer development.5 b3 t$ r1 y3 C. a7 Z' ]: |
• Facilitate placement of practicum students, and grant-funded personnel throughout the agency, in order to provide appropriate career development opportunities
8 ^/ V/ c- g( q0 ~• Collaborate with other agencies to provide suitable placements for Persons with Developmental Disabilities. Orient volunteers and their support workers, schedule work-dates and provide direct supervision when required

SPECIAL EVENT PLANNING
) ]* t( X8 d) f. V8 ?/ E• Plan and execute the Power of Being a Girl Conference, in consultation with the CEO) o5 m& }* R. p. A# E: V( N
• Book the venue and speakers, register participants, provide on-site logistics and complete the post event wrap up

, k( K" p6 {( x0 UADMINISTRATION
+ d; x, X" l7 }" w v( @% z4 C n• Develop and maintain job descriptions for each volunteer position: u) R5 w& k* v& A5 d8 l
• Maintain secure volunteers files in accordance with privacy legislation+ C: V; H' ]" |1 q5 ^7 x
• Provide feedback on volunteers’ performance, as appropriate) \/ l% r5 Z7 V7 I7 G
• Ensure Human Resource policies and procedures are adhered to within the department9 p- l) ~3 W) a, k) x
• Maintain an up-to-date Policy and Procedures manual for the department and develop new policies and procedures as required
: \3 P, I9 S% @- A2 g• Ensure that all forms related to volunteer recruitment and placement are up to date and implemented throughout the agency

• Maintain monthly and yearly volunteer statistics for reporting purposes

FINANCE
% k" M$ g- q1 l- R8 L• Ensure the program operates within approved budget and be familiar with potential variances
) `, Q- {$ K( P* P$ {& P• Prepare volunteer statistics for grant and funding applications, for this program and other programs within the agency. Provide supporting documentation when required

9 ]. ~: l8 i" w5 _& o( a NINTERNAL/EXTERNAL RELATIONS6 n8 Q8 V2 E- |8 |" l1 R2 ^
• Act as liaison to the Y-Knit group of volunteers! _) p7 i% K" E% t: @
• Act as agency’s liaison to other volunteer organizations (e.g. Volunteer Management Group, Volunteer Alberta)
! w# x* W5 h, b' F• Follow up with correspondence to outside agency volunteers as appropriate 1 E6 y3 r. k" e) P' p; [
• Attend external functions such as volunteer fairs, trade shows, and special events as required

0 ~" `2 A- ?: @& u• Minimum 2 years experience in Volunteer Coordination" U$ n. W8 Q3 X+ [. O- D$ _
• Excellent organizational skills and multi-tasking ability* d2 z( Q0 f/ o7 z8 O
• Demonstrated superior volunteer supervision skills7 [8 f6 f* d* Y4 E) S
• Collaborative working style and excellent interpersonal skills

• Ability to work in a team-based environment, with cross-functional work teams on projects
