Key Responsibilities & Duties:

& |5 F* B! u; D: ]+ F+ w Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.+ k; k( o" Z4 Z! X
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site., S9 D" P9 Q1 M. ]
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.1 P. f1 F3 f0 L% [* E z
 Completing required paperwork.0 a# Y, E! _! M9 }+ V& U7 Y: [: [4 V
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops./ y4 X, H% U! r
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.$ z. H' z' e2 j7 ?
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.

 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.# Z2 r0 N O# Y6 q( Q! G
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
+ x$ Z% R% j- {, X: u Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
$ B! s8 x% l3 c Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.# Y6 z( M7 q- [/ l1 `) M
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.2 J7 e/ _* H5 ?! |; W* }
 Knowledge of community resources.
- ?, B; f( R1 N% T# o Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.

Position:
2 n; N( ~$ u" Q/ gThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50; ! q* K3 K* }; {- _3 W5 B. e% t6 _
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
