Key Responsibilities & Duties:- ?% w9 k* K6 t
; I: @7 n3 ~4 A, p) C) J Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
- Z2 V# K+ R$ H# o9 {( Y Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
# W( ?8 u1 f+ p; L Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.

 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
" T' W8 X9 u9 U' `: t; c Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.

 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.( S- k) S! N0 F
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.9 e/ J, X* t6 y! O9 i( d) y
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.% s6 Z; X4 t5 ]0 t- w( _/ F6 u. W
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.. K1 T# Z- K+ k! h* n! Z

1 ~9 ~$ {/ L0 hQualifications:( U4 ~4 f! p7 H% z' R
( i# {% P2 K b- M$ \1 w$ l Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.& n8 F' \' Z/ S
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
7 _: f$ [% h9 N0 K Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
1 A# B# g- J2 I8 j/ c- C* Z Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
" o% R3 N7 b* W/ T( Q Knowledge of community resources.
0 {: h9 R/ a9 h& { Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.) S2 S; m; m* y7 C8 \
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training. 9 F' u6 K+ T: j

Position:
/ a8 y0 w6 S/ n4 l6 G# cThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
1 h% F5 ^$ h/ V/ }starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period. |
