Key Responsibilities & Duties:

& |5 F* B! u; D: ]+ F+ w Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
( x) p4 ?2 ]4 V2 _* V, } Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
) @$ ?' G; p/ M/ A3 e' C, x6 [ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

! V+ F: U4 D3 d" d
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
+ x$ Z% R% j- {, X: u Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
$ B! s8 x% l3 c Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
- ?, B; f( R1 N% T# o Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
( c; J7 T, Z5 ^1 n Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

Position:
2 n; N( ~$ u" Q/ gThis is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
starting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
