Key Responsibilities & Duties:

0 J9 J7 m  ?: P! `, u* D. ` Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
: _( P1 m& y8 v$ [& v; ` Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
5 I. Y" o3 V& ~# ^+ y Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
 Completing required paperwork.
 Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
* ^$ e! w5 C9 ~ Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
 Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
 Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
 Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
7 U' n  b  x& }% _" l
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
 Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
% v; \$ W' s+ x$ {8 |) V Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
2 m: Z; Y5 K- d" z* f Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

6 T2 f$ k* d9 `This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
* C2 o1 u, R. B) Wstarting January 2006. There is a 3-month probationary period.
