Key Responsibilities & Duties:

, y2 M( S# A8 V; f; U. @6 R! h Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.& q) i) \# N1 N$ o) I, i H! Y
 Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site./ v7 }- c0 \9 l0 X1 j
 Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.* N, h& w9 k7 m& z1 t3 y
 Completing required paperwork.
$ B/ I- c g3 p$ N Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
- A; {" s; r; q! O6 w& M Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
+ s7 `8 s2 b7 J8 \4 \) n# I Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
8 c9 d N! T1 h' I$ n) F; s Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
z/ P$ f4 K# f; _ Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
" u" m' W O; C: y8 U) I Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.

Qualifications:
1 x) x0 `% J+ p X# U' n0 o3 U' X/ n0 [+ Z! F* f P' A
 Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
; Y: \1 [% ?: l( o) [" i Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.+ O2 V7 ^7 \5 P
 Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
9 }1 x T# b/ N& ^ Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: latch key, addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
6 B% b" H. X n6 V7 {9 n Knowledge of community resources.; Q0 X# _) u$ A8 i9 m
 Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.! V% ^) C1 A. ^ I- B/ J z* W ^
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; with a combination of afternoons and one weekend shift per month; at an hourly rate of $12.50;
