Key Responsibilities & Duties:

, }  C; d1 O  F. K$ J% [ Facilitate delivery of safe and supportive drop-in programming, while supervising youth.
* h8 o: Q' M/ W& |) F! i/ Z Coordinate food and recreational programs on and off-site.
' t+ v: {. q% V; Q: q$ S" ]- Q Provide positive role-modeling and maintaining a healthy atmosphere for the youth.
- A# X9 A  s/ Y/ \. z+ t Completing required paperwork.
5 E) N* k0 R) Z& q8 R! y8 C Attending scheduled staff meetings and workshops.
 Following and implementing all program policies and procedures.
 Maintaining confidentiality of client and program personnel information.
 Representing the Teen Centre in a professional manner.
- K7 `" N4 T+ {* u Maintaining professional boundaries between clients and staff.
2 j6 M( ]/ H6 i- {! z Provide additional support to the program as needed under the direction of the Program Manager.
# ~9 J* {8 x" v% U' Z# A' s" G Reporting to the Program Manager on a Regular basis.

Qualifications:
- H6 F7 y( }  q/ H/ V
3 }1 A2 D7 u7 \ Some post-secondary education needed OR a minimum 6 months related experience.
( ]3 J& u' G2 s! y# l. x* D$ O Strong interpersonal, communications, teamwork, leadership and organizational skills.
$ i# ~: ~' y5 x  \: ` Non-judgemental and empathetic attitude towards high-risk youth.
 Broad knowledge base on issues affecting high risk youth: addictions, abuse, Aboriginal and other cultures, poverty, sexuality, etc.
 Knowledge of community resources.
/ A1 v0 r6 V% |9 |/ P Criminal Record Clearance and Child Welfare Information System Clearance.
 Standard First Aid and Suicide Intervention Training.

; w+ f" W  F# T/ gPosition:
9 T; p% A. d; |This is a part-time position; 15hrs/week; evening and weekend shifts; at an hourly rate of $12.50; starting February 8 2006.
There is a 3-month probationary period.
