; s. j& R1 B, f9 H4 W) g! bDelivers, sorts and picks up mail, parcels, courier documents, cylinders, crates, dangerous goods, furniture, tack boards, tables and chairs, surplus equipment, and any related incoming and outgoing items
# o6 R% p6 H& mObtains signatures, scans traceable items into Palm Pilots upon delivery to departments
9 V7 `# y% H C7 J2 F7 ZEnsures Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) regulations are followed on TDG shipments inbound and outbound! n$ @8 C5 ?9 ^8 ~9 E' n" y+ h# q
Prioritizes workload and requests from dispatcher and team lead
# O" ]$ @9 V# ROperates University vehicles from small vans to 3-ton trucks, including standard transmissions8 Y7 N9 Y* }3 @$ M8 h. w
Performs related duties as required: z/ C, i% [9 Q/ G! t. c
Qualifications
4 f; _! @' k( l& Z5 jValid Class 5 drivers license - the successful candidate will be required to provide a Drivers' Abstract and have completed a Defensive Driving course in the previous 2 years.
" N6 p5 ]) k7 k# p& O2 ]# |High School diploma; previous driving experience required
0 E+ b# Q0 a6 s) w3 e! `Current certification in Transportation of Dangerous Goods; Workplace Hazardous Material Information System (WHMIS) certification* R1 K( _$ N. o+ }# Q
Training related to proper handling procedures of Radioactive and Biohazard materials8 N H* Y; o. W; o0 ?
Ability to operate equipment including forklift, power-jack, pallet-jack, Johnson bar
