Responsibilities
, y& j0 Q8 p$ J: S) ^! y Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
& K! O) ^# o' S3 Q+ q Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
) ~: `" \. h: P Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
2 G7 U+ K; n7 o& D Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
3 f# P. s! S$ f3 `4 a+ _; [8 O3 L Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
; }8 D: [7 |9 n" j Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
" @3 q- ~5 a6 @ Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

 Social work degree or diploma
2 S: r, b! v1 p  ]& S Current RSW designation preferred   
 Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
2 Y( y& R! H- b0 g$ ` Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
 Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
 Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
