Responsibilities
 Complete comprehensive intake and needs assessment process and develop referral and case plans to support newcomers in fully settling and participating in the community  
4 X8 A5 e3 o+ k: C! o+ c% B Continue to follow-up with newcomers, EMCN staff and other service providers to ensure newcomers’ needs are met     
 Provide holistic counselling to individuals and families, including hands-on support with accessing resources and resolving difficult issues
: q2 c9 w: X# l6 w2 [1 x Advocate on newcomers’ behalf to programs, institutions and service providers
 Research and maintain current information about programs and resources available in the community
& u% W: d$ ~0 o( `1 S Develop and maintain ongoing relationships with staff of programs and services in the city and ensure EMCN clients access the most appropriate solutions to meet their needs
 Work as a team with EMCN staff to ensure holistic supports are provided to newcomers.

Qualifications
3 Z$ `: }6 Q; k3 I$ M  u5 B Social work degree or diploma
 Current RSW designation preferred   
6 o: G8 X3 a$ F7 \' A. ]+ V0 S9 f Demonstrated experience with holistic case management and supportive counselling
 Knowledge of and experience in accessing a wide range of programs, services and supports available in the City  
 Ability to effectively listen, assess needs and guide people in a supportive manner
 Sensitivity to cross-cultural issues
9 }$ G7 y; ~/ [: T" s  L0 ^ Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
, q% Z. t! i* m5 F Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
 Ability to perform variety of diverse tasks under time pressure.
