While in the legislature he served as Senate Majority Leader. During these
years, Jim West supported several anti-gay bills, including one that would
have banned gays and lesbians from working in schools and day care centers.
He also proposed a law that would ban all sexual activity among persons
under the age of 18 (the bill failed). He would later admit that he

West was involved in a sex scandal in 2005. He was accused of sexually

and Boy Scout leader. He was also accused of misusing his office as mayor
to lure teenage boys for sexual relationships. West called the molestation

9 d6 q+ x3 S1 h5 rrelationships in the past year through the Gay.com website (see ([3]).

Ted Arthur Haggard (born June 27, 1956) is a former American evangelical
) _/ N; c: R' t# M# apreacher. Known as Pastor Ted to the congregations he served, he is the
! M- v% f% w( U4 }founder and former pastor of the New Life Church in Colorado Springs,
% G: o; X; l! B) y% W& u- S; DColorado; a founder of the Association of Life-Giving Churches; and was
leader of the National Association of Evangelicals (NAE) from 2003[1] until

In November 2006, he resigned or was removed from all of his leadership
positions after he admitted soliciting prostitute Mike Jones for homosexual
sex and methamphetamine. Initially Haggard denied even knowing Mike Jones,
( n0 X; G3 Z2 L; T! I' \but as a media investigation proceeded he acknowledged that some allegations
6 N* }. p5 _2 d2 k) D  H% w4 _, such as his purchase of methamphetamine, were true. He later added "sexual

$ a  q4 s* m5 T! Lcounseling, overseen by four ministers. In February 2007, one of those
ministers, Tim Ralph, said that Haggard "is completely heterosexual."[3]
Ralph later said he meant that therapy "gave Ted the tools to help to
embrace his heterosexual side."[4] As of early 2009, Haggard continues to
receive counseling, and now he says that he is a “heterosexual with issues.

overwhelming pool of evidence [of an] inappropriate, consensual sexual
relationship [that] went on for a long period of time [with Haggard] ... it

reached a six figure settlement with the man, who was in his early 20s at
the time.[78] According to the man, he said the contact was "not consensual"
