Develops and updates the graphic user interface including program interface (menus, dialogue boxes, file editing, etc.) using C++ or Java or other languages to allow users to compose run scripts and edit input files for a FORTRAN model
. l" z9 O* M$ D- f# VGenerates dynamic visualization of numerical output from the model using VTK or other visualization tools, linked to explanatory documents
+ Q' b3 g$ a5 s- w; wWorks with staff in the MACI to determine ways to deal with the data and find innovative approaches of presenting results
8 \" T1 M; R  u* h' A8 R! dImplements interface and visualization on portable media (CD and website) for use in research and teaching; implements the mathematical model "ecosy" in parallel mode on computing facilities available
: e( H! U7 J) f8 O  i( P9 hProvides technical support to teaching initiatives at undergraduate and postgraduate levels using the mathematical model with the graphic user interface
Installs software and provides user support; liaises with users to enable their productive use of the software
Qualifications
- \- s9 P+ x3 h! xB.Sc. in Computing Science with specialization in interface development
Related experience with interface development; interest in terrestrial ecology and global climate change an asset
