The Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN.4 Q) G0 B* n7 Y( E6 [+ V9 K

( a$ X+ f" n9 Q4 q. r# d5 f4 X5 |( pThe key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:
4 X, t' z0 H) ^/ L# K7 Q, v1. Recruitment, Selection and Orientation
$ }" t3 s4 i- H# i) v2 q2 P/ m% k# }& U• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers, \7 f J; e6 l$ D4 O8 q
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests
/ ]. B0 x% |& U" n2 E9 ]; M% ]& y• Ensure job descriptions are kept current* I+ T/ `+ \& h2 E: }# P# Z# S d
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs2 C5 L a# Q- R/ ~: t5 i0 W
• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees6 [! [2 Z5 W2 f- J$ M4 E

" J2 w) }% e! e9 ? E' n$ _• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval3 ?- y5 ^4 ?7 ^, w; C* k r
 Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions1 l# b2 P& m x6 t
• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance

3. Performance Management Support
7 u5 L8 z# P9 n, J$ T+ E5 }0 j" a" u• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program/ d: F# c' E) A+ N. T: o
• Support Team Leads and Managers in the administration of discipline and employee coaching
1 e: r5 D9 m( C& p* e• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations)) s1 q( V( l+ P+ {7 W
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations
( ~ R; _9 U8 t# S% L; w7 a9 a• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee

4. Human Resource Information Gathering
" Y' Q0 O V3 j6 G4 M" c6 w• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals: k8 R7 i ]8 }) M7 g
• Analyze statistical data and reports to identify and determine causes of personnel problems and develop recommendations for improvement of organization's personnel policies and practices

• Manage salary structure and job evaluation system, from time to time, as required

• Oversee payroll administration and maintain relationship with payroll provider

• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs1 w5 R/ o/ D6 F# O4 O8 f" j

Qualifications & Expertise% W0 o* S7 Z/ R0 R
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered): V: p$ e, m+ Q. n
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
8 J) `2 r! D- p A CHRP designation is an asset9 v4 S9 m. L. y ? L, x
 Experience in the health care industry is an asset

 Computer proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook/ Z+ k8 R' H8 s) C! e
