Purpose of Position
! @2 |" O6 V5 ?0 M# L! D$ Y$ FThe Human Resources Advisor is a generalist position, responsible for providing a range of support and expertise, enabling management to deliver best practices and human resource solutions which support the business operations of the PCN. q7 `& f: b R9 G% s
This role reports directly to the General Manager.

The key responsibilities of this role is to review and ensure effectiveness of day-to-day human resources functions, includes, but are not limited, to:

0 ` R4 c; c# q% M• Provide guidance and support for recruitment, sourcing, job postings, screening, interviews, reference checks, and selection practices, as well as job offers5 O1 N* P# c! y
• Develop, administer and evaluate applicant tests" n- y% D8 T! D! ]
• Ensure job descriptions are kept current$ ]0 @6 [. X! S. g/ b& U/ l
• Manage the new employee orientation and orientation programs
" h* n& I+ g* u• Support the administration of probation evaluations for all employees j9 c% w3 ^; R. g9 ^- s4 R% ~

2. Policy and Procedure
% E& L) Z p$ K R• Provide recommendations for policies and procedures; when identified as a priority and delegated by the General Manager, develop the necessary documentation and seek approval, T b; a- i4 }6 @" H0 r. [1 r
 Manage all policies and procedures to ensure consistency, references are correct and there is no duplication or contradictions5 k6 F; L& W4 Q" C* `# z
• Advise all employees, especially Team Leads and Managers, on interpretation and administration of policies, procedures, programs and legislative compliance! L( F1 k7 n7 g

• Monitor attendance/absenteeism and assist with the administration of performance management program

• Provide resolutions to employee relation issues (e.g. employee complaints and harassment allegations), s* _+ ?! U! T
• Conduct exit interviews and provide management with analysis and recommendations8 \+ v3 ~3 ?/ R4 Y3 O# {# k" b
• Member of, and responsible for, the Rewards and Recognition Committee' q1 y, L+ K) A3 q6 A- S* Y- j# H8 a

• Maintain accurate records and compile statistical reports relating to personnel data – e.g. hires, absenteeism rates, performance appraisals

5. Management Support and Planning
8 C$ D$ t3 ], W( e• Provide input and support to the management team on employee relations issues

• Administer and record employee rewards, recognition and incentive programs

7. Payroll and Benefits

• Administer and educate employees of benefits and maintain a sustainable relationship with insurance providers- C9 d/ m# G5 m
• Manage claims for short-term and long-term disability, and ensure effective return-to-work programs, p4 s1 _6 {1 F0 o* [4 z1 {9 h, I" a

• Be a member of the Safety Committee

Qualifications & Expertise1 B+ {+ |) ^5 J. F; W" s
 Minimum 5 years of experience as an HR generalist (series of progressive specialist roles will also be considered)/ T* P% o& u: ]8 f. ^; A
 Minimum 2-year diploma, preferably in human resources or business administration specializing in HR, or related area of study (equivalencies will be considered)
) f0 e8 B& Q. Y# K7 a3 Y A CHRP designation is an asset
3 y' l5 X' d& b8 ` Experience in the health care industry is an asset
+ l Y" T! ~, c6 P, g' y: n' j! } Experience managing change is preferred
