Position: Outreach Worker

- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
( V. N8 q5 a" w. I* u, Q l- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
) b1 R. }3 |7 D4 S- Y% j. A# H- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
, ?" {$ F. {9 n' D8 ?- provide support to ISP staff
% L: o& o$ ]; a/ s- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members& A( K& |* v+ y, B8 i4 q k. B
- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities. G( ~: K) i5 R7 K2 J0 C
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
3 }; h @8 B6 |0 I" u- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
; n9 |5 o3 ]& S: R( V- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals/ u: ^% g3 D: O/ @- @5 Q
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder9 W9 G# P% o; U; f
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.1 \2 c: A7 l1 y# l
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities

Qualifications3 n. m4 N1 p2 I. F( F% o
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
$ U% q% ], N; o* `7 q6 Y4 l) V- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available o5 i2 s2 \; H9 P
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
0 O) W1 |0 d" V7 B- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
# m8 Z: T7 n7 E' f5 a6 d8 d- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred): c1 d) B- h9 a

- good organizational and coordination skills
