Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description
# z4 {0 [5 m; Z' {. ?0 }( f- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information! Y) H* |" V7 F2 E# E3 y( q5 j. N9 A
- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
3 n5 W" b) v2 j9 z- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
! g( s e; X1 ]( c% m9 _9 c- provide support to ISP staff
. r3 W5 L3 R$ q$ }. |. H- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
2 z7 h1 x# ~' b5 i }: c- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities7 i- q' D/ s4 i
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
g/ W7 b! N+ r; r9 J- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
: t, w: _& g% R# X. R- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
$ R. f( Q5 E3 Y- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
8 L$ m# a( K; \5 x; L- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.1 d1 W5 ~# V% u" }3 O( c
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities4 `& F" ^' Z/ T0 F0 k% O8 |
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

9 W' N# l0 f7 K+ P9 fQualifications
; T+ D# [0 }% X$ j. S- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered( y7 Y- ?( f' Z# ]" W4 C
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available# S$ [1 [* `2 K# t
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
9 ^4 h( ~4 e% y- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
% d8 n; U/ j& {0 ]3 v- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
! j1 u' ^: p- @8 J& ^3 S- good interpersonal and people skills
' r# B; D# l4 b' w- good organizational and coordination skills

Salary
