Job Description
0 w. u; a+ Z% N, A, C- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
' I1 h4 l/ K s/ i- c- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
% f1 d( Q. g/ Y' W! V, o6 r- develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
w9 S" C: ~5 x- provide support to ISP staff
9 J8 f; ?9 b2 y% a4 y* D- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
5 d% W+ j0 a& Q$ C8 Q$ y$ C- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities/ L/ r5 V, S$ x0 J
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated; D/ i* }; u" U$ W
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants- {% w7 }' [6 p, m( s0 E
- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals/ R, k0 d1 _" I3 \6 m
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder9 u% Y V( I& B! \5 l
- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc." T# |' R' q2 w* b z, Z& t
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities" T. X6 v. g" Q8 [
- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned

Qualifications( C9 c7 P2 @5 K k( C( y4 b6 ^: n& _" U
- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered$ x+ V( d9 j9 x5 `
- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available- @! H) b! Q+ @* I
- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
. v7 `. Q; a7 F6 x2 D+ x3 b$ P- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
8 W6 j3 y' w# B! @- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)4 m9 H# s* m) r0 B* F1 v
- good interpersonal and people skills$ [/ k! [' P: a8 b1 \! W
- good organizational and coordination skills

Salary
' b1 Q& N1 w9 l- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007$ q6 ^3 @. D, n* L0 y- q
