Position: Outreach Worker

Job Description
- promote the Centre’s ISP to community organizations, businesses, educational institutions, etc. by in-person presentations, phone or sending relevant information
/ `4 [, k5 p( Y# C1 h4 [- T- promote ISP in various media: newspaper, radio, newsletter, etc.
-  develop or update brochures, pamphlets, information packages, etc. for ISP
- provide support to ISP staff
- recruit new members to the Newcomers Club and maintain existing members
. E; q7 P; b0 [1 z2 u- promote, organize and coordinate the Newcomers Club’s activities
- outreach in different areas of the city where new immigrants are concentrated
- attend meetings relevant to ISP and outreach work to advocate issues and concerns of new immigrants
+ l2 m& V* V. c  ^! p, o- adapt to a flexible working schedule to accommodate the program’s goals
- fulfill the goals and objectives of ISP as contracted by funder
# C1 ?% _) k6 U% Z3 |' n- report writing, data collection, conduct evaluations, budget management, etc.
- recruit and coordinate volunteers to assist with outreach activities
7 a, |+ U. T- H% I6 R1 x- S- assist with front counter services as needed and assigned
- other duties as assigned

9 S% S  C. [- n- degree/diploma in social work/human services and eligibility to be registered to area of discipline; relevant experience with community services/projects/immigrants will be considered
! A+ I2 I. G9 \0 q: A+ a- knowledge of immigrant issues and concerns, community resources and services available
3 t7 X% T* P7 X+ y$ G& W1 r; X- experience in working with community groups and community liaison workers
- good computer skills using Microsoft and Chinese software
9 ~+ u/ _3 @) l. `& w- speak & write Chinese (fluent in Mandarin preferred)
- good interpersonal and people skills
- good organizational and coordination skills

Salary
- $12/hr for 17.5hours/week, April 18 to March 31, 2007
