In 2008, SEDI founded the Canadian Centre for Financial Literacy (CCFL) which is a national network dedicated to supporting financial literacy capacity building and knowledge mobilization. It acts as a national ‘hub’ for financial literacy in Canada.& }* b: j' O5 E: |* z" Q

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
/ ]. p- k4 R% iSEDI is staffed to:
* z3 u4 G( A) G1 y6 U7 m! _• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
% I ~7 l; u- C$ `& T- c/ d• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
: Y) y) w f) z• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation # M' ~- s3 O" E9 i! A B. q
• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
9 O3 a4 a* Y$ g- ~- N• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits % e" l# b6 O8 I- c( I- I3 B
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

+ r1 Y. W9 T( f8 e; ]# v) R; EPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
5 `) @ c# `0 ^• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
- J5 h; g* T& p/ a# H6 a• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
: h1 T* Q" Z% N) ]% A# c( h• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
& s8 M# v" Y* j) _• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities - ~- ^# R! F; X
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
9 U- v S, \# Q t# R# W& k• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required
2 C4 a& Z" W" t9 r; WOther Activities:9 u8 m/ C: `; M+ P2 P2 R6 D& [
• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies 8 k, b6 l' M! x5 ^+ Q
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
5 A7 ]2 S4 V5 e8 m! q• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
! f' ~# a* D8 _' J2 y9 v• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
& Z+ z* Y$ N* j0 t+ [ M% g8 t• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning / R% j f1 I1 p
Primary Qualifications: 8 I7 d& M( x r- x5 e$ N2 ]6 W4 D
• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
5 ^. f, I# q, C# u9 \• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
3 M. f3 B8 {0 e: A- i, u' A6 ^• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
* }( E& X+ C$ c& a! U* y# }$ V• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
+ b2 E9 `- C% j. N: d• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams
: N! {. x1 J# m" ]6 [) [! j! Z• Passion, enthusiasm and deep commitment to the SEDI mission, vision, values and goals 5 t3 X/ y3 p0 d
• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts " s5 P: _! [% U! K; `3 W& p
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them : E b- I4 a( K; e: e+ c
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 6 L* }5 W4 q7 M, d6 P
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education * t/ w5 h$ k2 E$ T& B, F* K
• Content / curriculum development experience
3 F- e& p1 v. i( A* @- L( w9 I9 k! C1 z• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners
% B. _8 S; C* z% b |• Excellent organizational skills
# i, n" N: R! o( B b• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc.
; |8 D+ m" } e, n7 x: \• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset

• Marketing and communication experience an asset
