SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
$ q) }& U+ Y# }$ C$ cSEDI is staffed to: + s& ]' e& ~$ a* W
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
a2 ?4 D$ J4 Y2 a- h• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
" k2 ^- [4 r, r1 m" B) E5 v• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
+ h) Z. g9 W% o• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
4 E3 B2 S/ b+ N- N# [) _- g• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
& F/ v2 b8 ]- p3 [7 t6 K# ^• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses

Primary Responsibilities and Activities: / v7 e& ~ X1 C) r6 R! W8 _
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
2 }! n) ?6 t& F7 V2 s8 P• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
- B e+ o* ~8 R• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
P) R. x8 P. e1 u2 |3 O: S• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities 6 X% b, p T1 U7 K' P- U
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
0 ]1 U( B# b0 t• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required 1 S3 }( n( d' B8 J j3 Y

• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies ' N% E, b. r: G: O l" W" N2 G! E& b
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
/ K: O/ ]9 G8 T! y• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
( J6 `% N9 C D4 e. K8 b) D• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
5 a. d% U) l9 j! F• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience ! ^; C. e+ `% P
• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media $ ?5 x0 \ v- ~% F3 c! Y) [6 T2 r
• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
. I8 K5 z& ], x G+ R4 q• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities

• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them - @# Y: v: l# U1 T8 m, { |% _
• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc
& [' Z2 q% O1 T. s) c: [. R• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Excellent organizational skills

• Policy research skill set is an asset
