Financial Literacy Trainer / Coordinator

SEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
' |( N3 R3 k5 aSEDI is staffed to: $ g1 D- a {) f' d: A H
• conduct socio-economic market and policy research
, ^$ }8 P$ o @9 B9 X8 n• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners ; i& \0 t# [7 V. v5 ?
• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
1 s- u2 h2 D4 q6 \4 }• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs
3 r' z1 ~/ c5 @• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits 2 ]; |( O( U$ t& q
• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses
& _4 d7 B# x7 N5 d• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada
% e& i( G- V- B/ p3 HPrimary Responsibilities and Activities:
" d3 }) e/ n& C6 ~% Z: G• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada
; B+ }1 d7 v# X4 v8 E. G" S• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc)
8 U5 i! X( j/ v• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required
7 z6 o( J+ A5 J( R; ^- `• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities

• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required

" t- _" b2 t' T( U# a3 W• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies
* e# f5 q7 G/ D+ A" w• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners ) X0 [6 r6 }) j. B. [5 X
• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting q' X( w& ]# j3 m
• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports
& L& u' C; M: J8 K$ |; \: g4 H" N) v• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning " f7 p* t& ]! C: }; _' X5 n) M& U
Primary Qualifications:
7 i; [, B. h8 w; ?, G. p• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
. W6 E7 x8 W8 u$ L% |• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
& I7 P& b; J, ]4 M# E• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training
4 [+ z9 f8 @3 y) i7 h N; K* B- e• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities $ H$ f+ K" U! r1 G6 F! P
• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts
5 ~8 I+ `: N& g* ~9 G• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
) L( n& A0 _5 o6 T$ v" Q P• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc 8 V5 L) @" W; T
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education X+ Q8 ]6 w, b5 c. E
• Content / curriculum development experience

• Excellent organizational skills ( Y3 S6 o) _, ]/ Q: V3 y3 i* A
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. . M/ W* Z3 I* o% O6 {
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset 0 l, v$ N& x, A% e5 m5 A# H
• Policy research skill set is an asset
