; s% ?$ G {% ^/ m3 xSEDI is hiring an in-house financial literacy trainer/coordinator who will help build financial literacy programs across Canada.
( \8 U( A0 E) W" ^8 L- PSEDI is staffed to:
* u# ^) [& c% v8 c( o) `8 Y8 @• conduct socio-economic market and policy research + L5 H: ~- q& {6 W" r4 a; v
• act as a knowledge broker between communities and policy makers, and influence public policies that affect low income earners
3 n, R, v# C N( d) {9 d6 Q4 n• develop socio-economic programs and manage their implementation
' f+ D7 z9 }* e2 R2 Q# J( c& t. N) @• partner with other nonprofits across Canada to deliver programs - t4 U, \, W& h+ B
• provide training and capacity building to frontline nonprofits
3 M$ v6 Q& b: p! Z) W• work strategically with the public and private sectors to develop innovative responses # H% B% b! E4 R
• to work to reduce economic vulnerability in Canada 1 ?! [! m; f' E/ g, ` h2 r
Primary Responsibilities and Activities: 5 Q# H3 N( K' J/ V8 B+ Q
• Facilitation of forums and training of trainers sessions (basic financial literacy) with staff at partner community organizations across Canada . q: ^2 M. ], o7 r3 S
• Assistance in the development and design of financial literacy tools (ie- curriculum, videos etc) - R6 s8 ?" F1 v% e7 u4 t0 F; U
• Coordination of activities and communication with delivery sites of the CCFL as required 8 `9 J/ t1 \/ a g) ~! R M9 r
• Working with the website and communications teams on CCFL communications activities + i i9 A7 z) F" \$ H5 M
• Working with evaluation and management information systems team
7 \' y$ ]5 b6 y6 U. [• Other CCFL duties (reporting, evaluation, communications) as required / m9 D! P, S4 O: i$ j& ]2 G% X
Other Activities:
. H+ ~ W) u _- E9 a. c9 j• Providing support to implement research and evaluation activities, solve implementation challenges, and fine-tune strategies $ \9 A% J' \; k4 M$ T5 p
• Organizing and monitoring the collection of all evaluation forms, surveys, and reports from project partners
: f; Q0 v9 H8 S4 z5 y• Working with in-house Management Information System staff to facilitate data input, analysis and reporting
; i7 N" C! [6 J& U• Writing and editing of research and evaluation reports, project reports and internal progress reports " Z; o7 ?; Y, n T: j9 N
• Participating in the development of Internet-based strategies for sharing findings/effective practices and for promoting learning

• Demonstrated group facilitation experience
8 S0 \$ i% i, O. r• Strong communication and public speaking skills; including comfortable with new technology and social media
+ C: [8 Z% H% B1 W2 _# T0 d# J5 Q+ ~• Able to travel across Canada to conduct training 2 \8 U& s) J+ ]8 k* Q) k
• Entrepreneurial spirit, can proactively identify prospective opportunities
8 u" E( J# T8 \4 }9 \! ]4 O( v* f• Highly motivated self-starter with team orientation; ability to build committed and collaborative teams

• Demonstrated understanding of basic financial literacy concepts ) t6 I7 H' [9 }
• Experience in working with economically vulnerable Canadians and the organizations that serve them
6 t. F- a2 F v/ W+ E' D" @" ~3 X• Experience working directly with community organizations that serve segments of the population such as: youth, seniors, women, aboriginal peoples, newcomers to Canada etc ; X. Q+ _) t0 ]$ m/ v, s) p
• Experience in ‘training of trainers’ activities or education

• Team player, able to deal effectively with multi-sectoral partners 4 i+ }8 {0 J8 |# g$ C+ G: J
• Excellent organizational skills ! p3 M1 A6 l7 O @ Y$ S2 s
• Computer skills: Word, ACCESS, Power Point etc. ; r! H2 U3 N$ l- c7 ^
• Ability in French (both written and oral) is an asset . K+ q4 o# T" B; S
• Policy research skill set is an asset
