1. It's cool." O' W. x* I. A* T/ ^1 r
(可指人或事物)也就是 something good or acceptable;situation is under control;being calm, gentle, courteous or good-looking;meet teen's standard.
8 \2 T, k9 Y: g! R That's cool;he is cool;this is cool.
5 X; I% \1 q* c4 N Skydiving (或surfing) is cool.(跳伞或冲浪运动很不错)+ P2 z2 F0 |: J" n' Q5 H o
* k8 W0 B- L( ~& u& b6 ^
主词可用任何人称的单复数 (I, we, they 等),动词可用 verb to be 的任何时态 (is, was, were, will be, have been等)。 X# V4 P. }$ G
She (He) was cool in the past. , x8 {. ^) f4 V$ Q( z+ k
That's a cool T-shirt.(好看的运动衫) , @% x0 ?4 S" j2 T2 ]' a! J; X Q
He (she) is a cool person.(文雅礼貌的人)
/ i# _ w: L5 B5 V+ x- o1 o/ A8 i" X9 Q' g# A# v
但是如果说:Are you cool?
) B! h4 t$ n0 L0 U She looks as cool as a cucumber. 又是恭维语,是说她很 calm and charming; not
3 b& }5 h# }* h" Y' L& N- I; w4 J emotional. * z, r6 L6 M4 B
(注:许多华人把 cool 译成「很酷」) 1 c5 i- L, z9 _* L) J3 v& _+ o! D3 T

2. Are you trippin'?, ^, E/ ?, i; \1 z5 ^2 }
这个字是现在分词当形容词用,是指行为异乎寻常,也许受到吸毒或喝酒的影响,而显得神魂颠倒、奇形怪状(to get high on drug such as LSD),也就是说:要不是受到药、酒的影响,你为什 显得这样古怪呢?(Are you under any influence of drug or alcoholic? Why are you so crazy and bizarre?)
They are trippin'. (= tripping) ; i" }0 Z; F9 P7 x* _$ o; D
She (he) is trippin'. . E; I2 k- y2 r0 P2 o
Mr. A must be trippin'.
# j. A( l- R& \$ M) }3 f' t r
( b3 ~3 T' {4 g" g4 g* i0 w6 F3. He is a nerd
. g4 `& l$ b7 d" x# y7 s1 ~ ~* o) h
(A person always buries his nose in books, but not good at social situations.) (IQ = Intelligence Quotient ; EQ = Emotional Quotient) nerd 可用复数,动词也能用其他时态。 I) `* t( T4 g* B0 p
He used to be a nerd in high school

$ H; |* F r0 p4 D' L4. Yo baby0 ^ `7 O' Z$ l" j
# w" \( B4 t; _' X# h8 Q; i2 `Yo baby 是许多年轻的黑人男子对女子的招呼语,也有人用“Yo baby, yo baby
(He thinks she is pretty and attractive, so he wants to speak to her.),也就是找话题,想要「打开话匣」。(to use as a form of opening line or pick-up line or to begin a greeting; try to know her or date her) 如果说:
+ E4 Y8 j" d) L9 [' ? Yo baby, are you trippin'?
1 G/ v5 \( [. a# r9 I“Yo baby" 後面可跟任何可以「打开话匣」的句子。
* m6 E+ Q+ U- yMay I help you with something? I think I have met you somewhere before.
4 `4 V/ |# U. h+ E; x9 T Hey, hey, hey, what's going on?“what is going on?”就是年轻黑人打招呼的用语 (a form of greeting or open statement) 或 Hey, hey, hey, are you going to the movie?(帅哥,你是去看电影吗?)

5. She is a ho- o7 v: S$ j. T; m- x2 l' F6 K' b
(a girl or woman gives sex freely without charge),也就是说:She is very loose. 或 She is a loose woman (girl)。
, P6 x' Z; L4 k& m) A1 M- ^) ~: ] {: K They are (were) hos.
9 d7 r4 W; |# {$ ^ There are quite a few hos in high schools. (a girl or woman is paid for sex.)

" L: z% F2 n7 ?( ^6. Catch you later!
: u/ X1 f5 f% d6 D6 r5 K& s/ H# D2 m5 `( L
(a form to say“good乡bye”) 也就是说:现在没有时间与你交谈,以後再谈吧!(I don't have time to talk with you now, but we can talk later.) catch 後面,也可用其他人称代名词(him, her, them 等) ' b% W- \3 ~! F; c1 B ^
有时年轻小伙子也用:I am off. I am leaving now; I'll talk to you again.
) S8 o6 r! H+ m! f- ^# ?(我要走了,再谈吧!) |
